Watering Confusion

So ive been doing a ton of research, im still very new, but i have two autos growing and they're in their final pot. O read that you should use a sprayer to saturate the soil enoughto water and noy drown the plant, its now day 2 of week 3, when do you think i can begin watering them out of the jug?

They're about 7 to 8 inches tall, on there 5th set of leaves, I can provide pictures soon, one got a little nutrient burn so i flushed her immediately, the drainage seemed pretty fine, about 25-30% perlite in the soil mixture, i also use smart pots, i just keep reading about how fragile auto flowers are, even though I've ran into a slight issue and not anymore problems , i still want to be cautious.

Why not use a cup or water bottle until they are a little more established?

That could be a good substitute, sorry if its a stupid question, i just cant be too safe, these guys were expensive, amd im trying to avoid the newbie grower mistakes

One HUGE mistake is over watering

easiest way to make small plants imo...lol

Remember your watering soil which suspends moisture and allows delivery to roots.

Point being.. proper soil construction for the container size is critical to moisture delivery.

How often do plants die, do to underwatering?

Get a moisture meter..
water when they need it.

I use a 2 litre bottle and stab a nail through the lid

I do this all the way through as I grow in my cupboard and it just seems easier then pouring out of a jug .

I have a Hawaiian punchgallon with holes poked in it, sort of like a watering can, a 2 liter seems the way to go

If the pots are a size to do the lift method, I would save my money on the water meter.
