How to tell if the plant will be a big yielder?

Hi guys,

So I planted 5x critical kush, 1x Blue cheese, 1x cheese.

They are in 40 gallon pots and they are all very different in size and growth rates.

My question is, will the BIGGEST plant be the biggest producer?

I want to only grow one strain...and I want to find the largest yielder... And I can clearly see the blue cheese is a lot bigger than the other plants, is a lot healthier with zero deficiencies. The others are healthy.. They doing great don't get me wrong... But I'm just surprised how this blue cheese is about 50 percent larger than the second largest plant... All conditions have been the same...

OK so my question is, biggest plant = biggest producer?

Not always I've had some runts in veg, that just exploded in flower. Those little guys out produced the bigger ones buy a lot in the end.

There's only one way to know and that's by growing it out and taking good care of it. A word of advise bigger isn't always better. You can get some big plants that are stingy. As well as some shorter compact plants that will out produce them.
As said above critical is big bud so it depends on which characteristics the hybrid takes.

Apparently critical kush is critical mass x og kush, not big bud..

Looks like the Blue cheese is the leader so far. Invite some friends over and have your own cannabis cup after harvest and cure. Feature the winner but grow 1 plant of a diff. strain every grow looking for that "Holy Grail". If growing big plants, I would make seeds of my best, and learn how to make Fem. seeds.

Thats exactly what im doing...

I have grown over 10+ plants in the past couple years of growing, but I always grew one from seed....I read that if you plant a lot of seeds you will find "the one"...so thats what I did....

They are all slightly different as mentioned, but the blue cheese is on a different playing field. Bigger leaves, bigger stems, bigger everything, even drinking more......I am hoping that this is the holy grail I have been looking for but who knows:)

My current plant is a Dr Grinspoon (growing it in my original 4x4 tent), all the research I have done says that you will get very very low yields. I wasent expecting much.....in reality though, its one of the biggest producers I have ever had, huge buds...completely different to the research I had done.

I am new to growing more than one (I have 6 in flower now, new record for me..hehe:D

I can see the problem being that they require different amounts of food. The heavy eaters are showing some deficiency's. The Blue Cheese is looking absolutely perfect...very light eater too..

Why not take clones instead of making fem seeds?

I have already cloned each of them, have about 10 blue cheese clones:) (cloned very easily aswell).

My thoughts as a lazy grower are, a mother plant must be tended, seeds can sit in the fridge until needed.
Bro,

I AM THE LAZIEST GROWER ALIVE!!!! No jokes. However I am a smart grower aswell.

I have setup my grow room completely automated system. I need to go in once a week for 2 hours max.

Get yourself timers and setup a self watering system:D

My plants grow themselves....I hardly see them anymore...:bigjoint:

I do a 2 plant ghetto grow, I never thought a mother was practical. I have made fem. seeds of my favs. and by swapping with my friends I often get the hot bean of the moment. Plan my grows around my trips ,Xmas, vacations. I water every 4 or 5 days, not a real hassel. If u have a kick ass system that is good for a 2 plant grow I'd like to see pics. and a description.

Blue cheese is not a big, more lower end average yielding strain. Big Buddha's is the best.

I just checked and my one plant is catching up quick!

its kind of fun watching them...its like horse racing which one will land up to be the biggest, they have massive growth spurts at night....

don't be blinded by the finish line. is the biggest yielder the biggest pain in the ass? are they prone to PM or botrytis ? do they attract mites like donuts attract cops? do they have bag appeal? are they hard to clone? kinda sucks when you start turning it into a business, don't it?

But it's like any real cookies strain. Small, compact, dense - high quality buds........The other 2 should out yield it...

Of the 3 strains. If grown to potential. I would pick the Blue Cheese as having the best overall buzz. Cheese not far behind and the "couchlocker" Kush last....Not the biggest fan of super "locking" strains.....(go figure, as I got a real GG4 from a friend and like that)

At any rate. Put some deep blues and UV or even run a MH bulb the last 2-3 weeks of bloom on that BCheese and see what I mean about it being #1 on that list...Kinda a fussy plant but patients still ask specifically for it!
