Going from HPS to LED. Worth it?

Most people have grown organic. There are pros & cons. If you don't agree, then you've never been successful with other mediums.
Don't get me wrong it's not the only way to do it but I've tried other ways and been successful but they haven't worked quite as well for me and I enjoy this method of growing much more

I bet you wouldn't enjoy it if your soil mix wasn't right.
And I'm not convinced that organic bud tastes any better than bud that was grown with synthetics & enhancers. The biggest advantage of going organic is low maintenance -- assuming your soil mix is spot on.

@Chunky Stool You'd be amazed by what you can produce with an appropriate mix of organic and supplemental. Of course there's a sprinkle of metabolic pathway manipulation to get that cherry on top.

Please tell me more!
I've grown "semi-organic" with good results, but it can be a dance with the devil if you start with a fully fortified organic soil.

Not saying superior. I'm saying it is at least equal to the power of HIDs, just for less wattage, albeit in a smaller area.
Say what???
I believe you have said they are quite superior
"Speaking from experience, you guys need to skip LED panels and go straight to COBs. Those are the real HPS killers."
The experience part is a real kicker lol. Olive you haven't finished one grow with a COB. LET ME STRESS, I have no clue, haven't done one, but neither do you, a half a grow does not tell you shit, right? Can you atleast agree with that? Yes I'm stubborn but really, fuck. As for the heat thing I said watt for watt, not how your 80 watts on one plant is working out lol. And please don't give me another electronics/lighting course. I'll wait for someone that has some experience.

"I also prefer my emitters driven higher than most others here. Most people run theirs at 700-1650mA. I run less emitters at the higher amperage of 2150mA. The CXB3590 3500k is rated for up to 3600mA."
What do you mean you prefer, you bought a light lol.
This is the herd thing I was talking about and from the shit your saying ..., your the herd leader! And again, real slowly so you get it, I have no clue about this shit but want to try, once that is done then just maybe I'll feel comfortable talking about how good or bad it is. I read this shit and I'm thinking wow just don't drink the cool aide at the next COB seminar lol.

You're taking my shit out of context. I am saying their efficiency and power will signal a shift towards them from HPS.

I also don't need to finish a grow under them to clearly see the striking relative difference between my plants under 2 ViparSpectra V450s vs. 1 Tasty T1. You need to stop assuming that I don't know what I'm talking about, because I do. At this stage, better than you do, as far as LEDs and COBs are concerned.

I said prefer because I prefer the higher amperage of these 2150mA T1s. Most others use multiple emitters at lower amperages, typically between 700mA and 1650mA. I prefer less lights, more amperage for my uses.

Ok yup out of context. Here's another out of context (no doubt) quote.
"I must admit, I'm not electrically inclined, so I went with Tasty. In any case, I do know he uses quality parts, at the very least. I will certainly keep you updated if anything fails, though, but I think despite it being driven hard--and obviously that leads to a drop-off in efficiency for the slightly extra power--I think it'll last a while. I'll keep you posted.

You had no clue wtf you were buying as far as how the light was driven lol. Admit it, you went with the one plant coverage light And nope guess you don't have to wait for the plant to finish to decide lol. You kill me ....
Any who I am done here, once again I have tried to figure out why you say shit, just to say shit but I give up....carry on, I just hope most are able to see what I'm seeing.

I did, in fact, get one T1 per plant purposely, yes. And they won't. Because I'm going to make you see what I am. What I am sayin isn't bullshit.

When I said I wasn't electrically inclined, I just meant I didn't know how to solder. I know how it works and everything technical. Just because I don't know how to assemble it doesn't mean I don't know and understand the theory and technical specifications of it. I knew 100% what I was buying. Again, totally out of context, so I don't see your point and you're stumbling over your own misperceptions. This stupidity stems from your lack of understanding, not mine.

Dep,on the amount of led you are going to use the most i have pulled from the mars 300 led upto now is 8 oz of perfectly dry cured bud,But i thinking this one may be a little better by a few oz.That is from the 1 plant grown under one light
.
The hps grow's i do ,i get the min of 2 lb, of dry cured bud from 2 plant's,But at one time i would never have said led over hps,but dep on where your growing,in say some where you want to keep noise down,to a min then led,Don't think you will hit 10 oz from a led first grow ,because it will take time but with a hps you would have to do something seriously wrong not to hit 10 on your first run,Something like too many plants in one room.

Any one new to growing, i would reco getting a led,and learning about the plants, the heat will not be a issue, with led and also growing style i grow scrog,it producers best for me,in auto pot's,with a max of 3 nutrients.I grow in a mix of coco and clay balls 70/30.

Canna a/b - canna
big bud - Advanced
Pk 13/14 - Canna

PEACE,Hope all goes well with what ever you choose,if you go with canna,pm me and i give you my feeding sced, its simple to use and never let me down.

Mars and COBs are very different things. Not talking shit, just informing you if you aren't already aware. If you aren't, you should research it. This also is not my first grow, it's my 5th now.

8oz dry from a Mars 300? Impressive.

i beat 8 this time round easy the bud are solid, the light has really impressed me for its cost,4 would be great run on a rail in a tent .The first run i did in the same room i got 5 but just getting used to it now least 8,this one easy like i say a couple more, the buds from the first one are on g13 web site Pineapple Express.Or in my journal,But i flower at a big size 3 ft then scrog them for a full 3 week during flower not veg,i have all ways done it that way,it saves having to double scrog.I found that less is more with this light,i would not do more than one plant under one 300,one plant one light,i do the same with hps lights 1 plant one light,I thought the title was hps or led i must have answered the wrong thread,i dont know nothing about cob lighting so i don't answer on things i know nothing about, sorry if it is wrong post i posted on.

No the thread does say hps or led,The team at mars are really good too any problems all though i have had none are all ways dealt with fast,a friend,Had a order with them and it came with out lead, the lead was there next day 8 am.For the money they cost, there a must great little light.

Good luck

I used to watch Comedy Central. Now I come here. More entertaining. We're comparing apples to oranges here. I understand some people need for others to come around to their way of thinking. Gives them validation. Others don't give a shit. The science speaks for itself. However, it doesn't guarantee real world results. There is something to be said for high intensity, single point of light fixtures like HIDs. There are also benefits to lower intensity, numerous point of light LEDs. If what you are doing is working, keep at it. Not getting the results you need? Consider the grass may be greener on the other side. A good gardener will produce under whatever light he or she chooses.

This BUD's for you,

So, for 400-600w of HID, I'd only need to run one 89w Tasty T1. 1000w, probably two or three. Driven higher, at around 2150mA. The heat will be unnoticeable, and the results will probably make you shit yourself.
rofl this is getting more and more entertaining, 600w replacement with 89 watts LOLOLOLOLOLOL :clap::clap::clap::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
