Hey avgrower, can you comment on the leaves.
Sorry to about your back, a friend told me he had a high cbd strain that worked great for his back pain.
Thanks...yes I have had 2 spine fusions from military service.... The pot helps me sleep and lessens the muscles on the spine. The pot has been a blessing. I'm able to function and move around now... Even able to work, as long as they don't piss test.

Oh the cuts on the leave were from me.... The leaves became dry on the ends so I cut them back.... That seemed to trigger new growth in the nodes areas... I think she is going to be a very bushy powerhouse
I don't live in a dry environment like yours, but when i grew outdoors I always had to mulch the pots. Also you can do a solar style refrigerator , that's where you take a bigger pot and place your pot in the center surrounded by sand , water the sand daily when the water evaporates it's a cooling effect. It's an old hippy trick, and the sand needs to be 4/6" thick.

What ever you do stop cutting on it lol.

Thanks, I like that sand in the pot around the pot, for my pot.... I'm going to try it. I will also put the scissors away. :)

Hi there,
I use MMJ for spinal issues and have a very limited experience growing my own. Out here in the desert we suffer from tight collective rules and as such my local collective has mainly super dry old varieties of similar strains. I had a clone that I tripped into flower becuase of light changes... they had it at 24-0 and I tried natural ... ended up a herm due to stress I beleive... but the little girl did produce about 10 grams of great smoke. Now my problem.... In my mixed weed buy (limited budget) I found a seed. I germinated it and planted it. She (I hope) is a 4 week old little one who sits on my back porch during the day and then I put her I a foil lined box with a Home Depot grow light at night. Until last night I would say she was getting about 18+ hours of light a day... She has spots on her... any hope for her?
Looks good. Your going to have to move her indoors full time during flowering if it is a girl because even the desert is going to be to cold in the winter for a week or two :). I mean it got so cold one year I wore a jacket for a few days. Did you do any reading on flowering? What lighting type and wattage you are using from home depot?

OK. Have you purchased any marijuana grow books.
a couple of good ones are:

The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible by Jorge Cervantes
or
Marijuana Grower's Handbook by Ed Rosenthal

The forums are great, the books will help as the forums will sometimes have misinformation.
I feel for you not having access to great weed, growing your own and doing it well allows you to have access to better weed than you can imagine.

I know when I bring her in at night there are small gnats that fly around the soil of the pot.
Ok then you know the problem. So Its a good news bad news issue. Good news you know the problem and its fixable. Bad news lots of work involved now.
1. By bringing plant in and out its got bugs so does your indoor area. Take plant outside treat for bugs.
2. Clean entire indoor area top to bottom with bleach solution.
3. Dont bring plant outside anymore.
sometimes it takes more then 1 treatment depending on what bug remedy you use

I know this may sound crazy but I enjoy kicking back one my porch sitting next to my plant enjoying the sun. Is there a way to treat the plant naturally to resist the bugs, and use the inside light only a substitute in case of severe cold and cold nights to keep her in veg?

Looks a little over watered. It is stressed for sure. Up pot it into moist soil. Good draining soil. Don't water it when you up pot it. Just moist soil so the roots grow out in search of water.

Edit: I took a second look. Let it dry out some. Moisture stress.

I just thought of something with the help of some great advice... because my plant it is outside I was informed that the problem based on symptoms may be bugs.... I also believe that because the only watered area in my desert backyard is my plant, the bugs may be even more attracted to the moisture.
I also was educated that the container that I use is getting heated up by direct sunlight which is in essence steaming the roots of the plant.
Although I didn't mention it, here in the desert here we get a bit of wind,....

So What I am going to try is using a adjustable stacked box system where I can adjust the direct light to the plant and also control the amount of wind.
In addition I am going to boil down some cilantro / red pepper water spray to deter the pesky bugs.....

I hope this works. I want to be sure that the plant can get as much real sunlight, augment with led grow lights as a secondary filler to keep the plant in a vegetative state.... The levels can be adjusted for plant height and wind speed through the vents...

not trying to give you a hard time...but you're wanting to do something thats not really good for your plant because you like to hang out with it.....
i can see your point, But desert people were growing weed before we had lights....I guess the if I want to grow up here out of season i will need to wait until the spring.....bummer

That is a common problem for a new grower. Love them to death. Its almost guaranteed the first grow will be over watered.
I know you are right... it is kinda like I knew something was wrong and all I could think of doing is watering it.... Im going to let the soil dry out before she gets anymore watering

it wasn't really the climate i was talking about. it was repeatedly exposing it to an environment that already seems to have harmful insects in it, which you then carry inside.

Once I get enough veg going, my plan is to bring it inside full time because I am sure it will be way to cold by then for anything outside. Hopefully by that time I can afford a inside basic grow system....I just really need to be sure to have a filter system. My last plant that went Herm had such a powerful scent. At first putting it in the bathroom at night was great, but by the time the flowers came in, it was scenting up my whole house. Plan this time is the garage.... if I can just get enough veg going...
