Why are you using 10 lights for 10 plants? Not HID, I hope. Overkill.
Because I've read to do this if you want to focus on them bushing out and getting a sufficient amount of light rather than getting tall and skinny. The more light the fan leaves receive the bigger the yeild. Is this not recommended? If I turn off 2 and cram them together, won't the yeild be smaller?

What wattage and type of light do you have on each plant? Unless you are using COBs, this seems like severe overkill. I was under the impression a 600w HPS could do 2-4 plants minimum, and 1000w could do 4 on each side of it, horizontally, facing downward, and hooded.

It appears you are using 600w of HPS or MH per plant? Can't fully tell. I really think you should reduce it. Maybe to 4-6 lights for the whole tent and rearranging the tent so the plants are getting optimum exposure. Anyone is free to correct me if I'm wrong, I am not an HID guy, but I do know 600w puts out about 1100-1200 PPFD. A plant needs only 900-1200 to reach full potential regarding what light contributes. At 1500 PPFD, photoinhibition and cellular breakdown can begin to occur. You shouldn't need 10 lights to cover 10x7 square feet when you only need 600w per square meter (3 feet by 3 feet, roughly).

I seriously think this is your issue. You might not even need an AC if you listen to what I'm saying, and your electric bill will show you some love.

I top for 4 mains and run 4 plants per 1K light.....Average Blue dream yield is 10.5 per plant at 6' or about 1200gr total per light.
I run 8 lights in a 12 X 24 and have a 24 x 36 building. The middle space is the veg area. It also contains the central Heat/AC.
In the summer the bloom areas are supplemented with portables.
In cold months I simply run thermal switched exhaust fans that pull in cold fresh air (filtered) for cooling. Cooling cost almost nothing in the cold months (5 maybe).....

So no, you don't have to run a single plant per single light.......

How long do you veg, Doc? That's pretty much all I'm experimenting with yet before I take to breeding, because I have everything else down pat. I just have to figure out what kind of veg time creates a window for what I'd prefer to yield, all other factors considered.

I have 8ft ceilings. The room is about 26x14. I have a 1700sq ft home so the basement is large. I've utilized about 3/4 of the basement for growing. The lights are over each plant to give them enough light to bush out. I'm trying to maximize my yeild by getting 1-2lbs per plant. My mentor gets almost 2lbs per plant by doing this and he helped me with the setup so that I can get the same amount. This is the reason each plant has it's own light. And they're HID 1000w bulbs.

About 6-8 weeks strain dependent....Not actually for sure......I rotate so much and get so busy in there. I simply haven't paid attention to days, weeks or such for years......New strains are timed closely once while doing their isolation run....That's how I work those into the rotation. That's clone to topped twice and vegged to flip size.....I just go by size....by strain of course.
Yeah I run 1 K's too.....I do the multiple plant way as that's what I decided as working best for me.....I wish I could SOG but, the plant limit thing is in the way......I have a feeling I may be seeing the "Compliance" check visit a few times......I did the cheat the #'s thing and it bit me......No more of that!

Just out of curiousity how did it bite you? And how much did you cheat the numbers by? Lol

1000w each? You are DEFINITELY overdoing it. You only need probably two, MAAAAYBE 3 of those in there, but probably not. They will still bush out perfectly if you listen. But you need to remove most of those lights, for your plants' sake, and your wallet's sake. NO ONE uses 1000w of HID per plant. Not only is it completely cost ineffective, it can potentially harm or stunt your plants to death.

Trust us, man. You are WAY overdoing it/doing it wrong. Photoinhibition will fuck your grow up, not to mention the heat.

I can't imagine what a 10kW per hour bill looks like. Let me do the math.

10 cents is a normal per-kWh cost. Give or take a few, so we'll use ten.

.10 per kW used per hour. 10kW used per hour. That's a dollar per hour. 24 hours in a day. 24 dollars a day. 30 days in a month, roughly.

$720 a month. 1-2 months for veg'ing, 2-4 months for bloom, that's

$2,160-$4,320 for one grow that you don't even need all that light for. You are going to hemorrhage money as a dealer, and go bankrupt if you don't deal.

Thanks I'll bring this up to my friend and see what he thinks for sure

I had 2 disp. and several ops to supply them and our direct patients.
I testified in hearings before our state congress on upcoming bills that changed everything in ways that only big business interests would be able to licence to grow or own/operate a disp. The bills were WRONG and unfair!

The state AG stated some years back that all operating Disp and their being able to operate were up to the county PA/DA to be allowed to operate or not and that the state would not interfere. It was considered that state wise - disp were illegal...
The state AG was on the side of the bills. He specifically had the local drug task force - raid all my operations at one time. I got hit with plenty of plants over the 72 per full caregiver allowance. We had 4 caregivers at the completely full level...

I faced many years of prison time and was plead out to simple poss. by the sympathetic local PA/DA, and it was he that told me that The state AG himself ORDERED that I be raided and arrested (He was against it)! I was not alone in the testify and raided thing either. Northern part of the state and the area around me got it too....The other 3 caregivers got a simple poss. and got 72/11 papered.. That means upon completing probation the records are cleared of the conviction and show no record of what the charge was.....Only that you were 72/11ed and your not able to be again.....

I can not reopen and have lost 50% of my legal #'s by those employee growers moving to other states for jobs that won't be raided...
The wife and I have our core patients and serve them by proxy with help from other caregivers.....as of Monday at 9:30 I'm back to operations....

In any case, one good 1000w HPS puts out 2100+ PPFD. You only need 900+ (1200 max; remember, 1500 photoinhibition really starts to take hold and 900's about 95% of all it needs for full potential; 1200 would border full throttle and the early beginnings of photoinhibition) per plant, and I think that 2100 is in a square meter, so if you were to raise the lights so they covered a slightly bigger area, and as long as what you raise it to doesn't reduce PPFD in your footprint below 900-1200 PPFD, you should be able to get away with using only 2-3 1kW bulbs for that entire grow space.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?!?!? That is insane!!!! Do you mind me asking what state you're in? Totally understand if you don't want to share that info.
