Helping the homeless

About three years ago I had a good job at a high end golf course as the executive chef. One night my aorta blew out causing an aneurysm. Over the past 3 years I've gone through surgeries, a lot of rehab but I'm still unable to work. The gov't decided I'm not sick enough for benefits. If it weren't for some supportive family members I'd be out on the street for sure.
It's so much closer than we think.
