So a 2015 study from Berkeley found that all social programs in the United States cost about 157 billion dollars a year.

157 billion...out of a 6.55 trillion dollar budget.

"LET'S SLASH WELFARE! MAGA!"

I'm stoned so I apologize if I'm off by a factor of 10 here, but that's like having 65 bucks in your pocket and not giving a homeless dude 15c so he can take care of himself.

I hardly think that slashing money from folks who need that money to survive is NOT simple math especially when everyone knows that the money being slashed is going to corporations and to buy guns and bullets.
First of all, Social Security is supposed to be a savings program, not an entitlement program. At the moment, people are receiving far more in benefits than what they paid in. They are getting their fair share plus a lot more. And that is your money they are getting.

The system has to be fixed because it is badly broken. People cannot keep expecting to get more money than they pay into it, that is not economically viable.

We are 20 trillion dollars in debt (and it is much more than that because Congress considers the IOU's in the social security trust fund as an asset, not a liability).

What do you suggest?

This is total fucking bullshit... They missed a decimal point somewhere. How much does Social Security cost alone?

A study from Berkley done by a homeless meth addict.

Social Security is a safety net for poor, dependent children, spouses, survivors and the disabled. It was never a " savings program.

Yeah, the poor totally make a net contribution to SS.

Fucking dummy.
That isnt what I said. Maybe if your reading comprehension was better you would realize that I was right about what I say most of the time.

The poor totally get 7.5% deducted from their paycheck with a matching 7.5% from their employer. The poor get at least 15% less than what they would due to the governments confiscatory policy designed to feed the ponzi scheme.

You are dumb as shit. SS was never a savings program. When your dumb ass die at 62 where the fuck is your money that you "saved" going ? If you are born with a disability how did you put money into this savings program to receive immediate benefits? ?Please cite where it is a savings program
Reasons like this is why you fail at everything.

The GOP has been trying to get their paws on SS for years do you really think that they want to fix it? He'll no they just want to hand out corporate welfare checks and throw money to the Pentagon so they can waste some more of our money, Trump and his swamp creatures are chomping at the bit to screw the people who need SS.

When I am an employer I consider ALL the costs. The government requires me to match that deduction in paycheck. If it was not deducted the poor person would get more money so they could try not to be poor. But the government is too busy looting the poor while proclaiming to be a protector of the poor... LULZ!!!

DO IT!

turn medicare into a voucher, cut food stamps, kill medicaid, repeal obamacare, give tax cuts to the wealthiest, and purge the disability roles.

i will encourage them to do all of this.
Why? I don't exactly have you pegged as a closet Republican.

I have been an employer multiple times over in my life and various careers. Have you employed people before and paid them a salary out of your bank account? It certainly has an effect on your perspective when you do that.
