If what you got out his statement was that he wants you to show your face, you are misunderstanding, yet again, or just trolling. Perhaps, just perhaps, you could re-read it now with the viewpoint that not everyone carries hate in their heart 24/7.

There are essentially two camps here. The grow your own, f*ck the law, it's our plant crowd, typically a little older like 40+. We've been the pioneers who fought and took hits that eventually got us to where we are today. If it weren't for our bitching and complaining and not taking shit from the government, we'd still be back in the 50's era and the evil weed syndrome.

Then there is the newer crowd, typically younger but not always, who don't know or could never comprehend the history of smoking and growing for 40+ years under constant harassment from not only the law but society in general. Using LP's and smoking crap is Ok with this crowd and they generally don't understand why the other crowd would complain about legalization.

The values are completely different and while we'll (first crowd) tolerate the current system, we're not going to be cheerleaders that give us half-assed measures and essentially put us under similar conditions we've been fighting for 40 years.

That's why there is contention, now go and complain to your mommy.

Here's a good sign that our friend is trolling, and not interested in any rational discourse. Or the fact that he accused RIU of being a data mining site because the software RIU uses doesn't let users delete their own accounts. Or the fact that he had a conniption fit at Sunni about how all internet moderators oppress him because she told him if he hates this forum he shouldn't post here (and after screaming at Sunni to delete his account he inexplicably continues to post). Or the 'heh I'm just bored at work check out how dumb this forum is'. Etc.

And now, despite the report being mostly well received despite some clearly unworkable restrictions, RIU is 'too negative'. Seems like he's going to go for the poor oppressed internet user angle now. You may also remember that even Hippy offered to help him grow.

If you are reasonable, or have a rational point most of this forum will entertain it. Tone policing is the refuge of those without anything to argue.

These new wimps are nothing but a bunch of suck up capitulators. Unable to fend for themselves as we have had to do. Fuckin chicken shit kids who would suck the pant antler of a cop just to be legal. I really do enjoy it. You can't have tried it all, I'm sure some is garbage, but it not all garbage.

Sometimes, if you're new to a crowd, you hang out in the background, get the groove for the characters, then join in so you're less of an outsider and may get others to listen to your point of view. Everyone has different views, doesn't necessarily make them wrong, just different. It's beneficial to understand this in any social situation, particularly in public forums.

People make their points in different ways and in different styles. To get their point you listen to what they're saying not the words that come out. It's called social interaction, but takes a while to learn it.

One thing you learn after a while, is that you can easily tell the age of some members by both what they're saying, and how they're saying it.
