My DR. said I need a heart transplant so I have to quit. They won't put me on the list for 6 months after I'm clean. It sux but what can you do? I have had a bad heart for 6 years and I know I would probably need a new heart. I still work but the DR. said my heart could fail soon. I enjoy smoking and the stress relief from weed.

They actually gave you a drug test for cannabis?
That's standard transplant procedure? Kinda shocking.
 
Really sorry to hear about your situation stroker, hope you the best.
I do not agree on the six month thing though regardless if it is weed or tobacco or whatever.
This country needs to learn how take care of its people and not where the next fucking drop of oil is going to come from

My wife is awaiting a kidney transplant and I am in the process of detoxing because cannabis is a no-no for both recipient and donor. As is smoking and drinking. Hell, I am even going to have to get dental work done in order to qualify for donation. Pretty strict on all that stuff.

Their motivations here are monetary yes but its but not with the same sort of ideals.... And drug tests as well as family history criminal background checks etc are standard. Think about it. Why give a heart to someone with a drug problem when there could be a "better" recipient..

I'm not even siding one way or the other. That's the view point . whether based in archaic medicince (cannabis) or not.





As far as cannabis and your heart. I would definitely recommend you abstain.


People I've monitored usually climb about 30bpm within the first hour of smoking then go back to baseline at roughly 1:30-1:45 then drop up to 10bpm at around 2:30

Your blood pressure is altered and brain excited

This bi-phasic nature of cannabis causes most of the problems regarding legitimate medical use.

In most people this isn't cause for serious comcern.. Orthostatic hypotension(light headed or fainting upon standing) and other similar problems are common however ..


But In people like yourself............

Cocaine is the equivalent to cardio though is it not?

I knoa it is more equivalent to a high intensity qork out.

Ita qhy my body functions like a anasthma stricken cardiac arrest patiwnt.

Definitely giving it all I can. They are doing amazing things with transplants these days. They have performed up to a 9 way transplant where, for example, my kidney doesn't match my wife but matches someone else who's donor matches someone else who's donor matches someone else who's donor matches someone else, etc. 18 patients and medical teams performing 9 transplants at once. Almost mind boggling. I just have to make sure that I am in good enough health.

Not sure if you quit weed yet, but first 3 days you'll be moody as hell and wonder why. Then you'll be back to normal. I have a family member that had multiple heart surgeries, crazy stressful stuff. She is good to go, you will be too.

its probably standard protocol to have heart patients quit using Cannabis before a procedure like that however there is no data that proves even remotely that smoking will affect the outcome...dude if it was me and I got pleasure out of smoking I'd totally smoke anyway. Its your life which you may lose anyway regardless so spark one up and fucking enjoy the holidays

I had a kidney transplant 6 years ago. They never said anything about weed.
