Seems to me both links are discussing a real issue, not the usual stereotyping

~edit~ First one is served sensationally but *shrug*
Thank you, CN
I always thought the core values of Islam and the teachings of the Prophet were ones of peace and kindness. the perversion is in the indoctrination of children (never mind your own) into jihad and Wahhabism. That was my point as well as the OP's, i think.

edit: ah, ok @sunni

I don't think this is really about Islam at all. Just as Western bombings are not really Christian. This is blood politics dressed in religious robes. Jmo

My parents told me the Vietnamese would strap bombs to babies and hand them to rescue choppers. That fight was in just that country and look how it turned out. This is becoming a global battle, how do you stop that.
Viet Nam was a nightmare start to finish. I wasn't there, but multiple guys who graduated right ahead of me were.

Their stories are sickening. There are people in the world who don't value human life at all.

Be happy you live here (despite all the problems) where we aren't attacked daily.

yeaa... the Vietnamese didn't really abide by any "rules"
but
"all is fair, in love & war"
pitfalls with sharpened bamboo dipped in fecal matter...
yea... amongst many, many others
their guerrilla warfare was what kicked our asses
but when yo think of it, can you blame them?
we were a massive military, and they were a tiny country smaller than California..
I wouldn't play fair either.

Doesn't mean it was alright, but certainly is a valid reason for it
never heard about the babies strapped to bombs though... I mean, i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but a baby isn't that big...
so I doubt a bomb would be that conspicuous...

I’ve got to ask this. When does being a forum moderator become a forum censor? When moderator’s go around applying censorship to someone else viewpoints and feelings doesn’t that take the heart right out of the idea of expression. So, I guess that the only thing we’re allowed to bring to this forum is what the moderator deem acceptable and when it hits a little too close to the moderator’s home you just up and wipe it off. I understand that this is a privately owned and operated forum with certain rules but as long as we’re not attacking people on the forum and causing all kinds of shit in order to disrupt the flow of forum we should have the right to say what we want to say. Censorship is just wrong.

sweetie this a private forum
You agreed to the rules
You break them you get moderated
It isn't censorship it's a private forum

You can leave if you dislike how it's moderated or you can say ok I won't post racist comments and state your opinion in a different way that follows the rules

The second option is much easier than starting a failure uprising against staff lol
