In WW2 we, the British that is, delegated command of the Allied forces to the leadership of General Eisenhower and the wars direction to the US, on the whole.

the settlements were an example of israel being a dick, rather than just defending themselves from a group of multi-generational "refugees" who elected a terrorist network to lead them with the stated goal of wiping israel off the map.
