I want to buy a book on ebay

one seller is 35 miles away from me and the delivery estimate says from jan. 4-11, and I will also get charges 2.43 for states sales tax.

the other sellers say over 2,300 miles away but for some the delivery estimate says on or before jan 4.

so can a package further away come sooner? which should I purchase?
