Do u have webs in your plants? Do u have. Magnifying glass? Check under leaves for bugs, maybe spider mites? Also u have to give more info about ur set up and water/feeding schedules so u can get better answers. Just a pick of a leave is not enough. Tnx

Thrips and mites are almost blind to the naked eye spiders or tiny insects, what you're talking about is probably the little fungus gnats that fly around your plant most likely after you water? Check underside of fan leaves for any black/brown specs, those are mites which cause damage to leaves like in your case

Looks like thrip damage alright. Almost any of the usual sprays will get rid of them. Spray every 3 days for 4 treatments and get the undersides of the leaves real good. I used neem oil with Safer's Soap the last time and it did the job. Safer's EndAll II is a safe bug spray to use as well.

Thrips don't fly around and live their whole lives in the canopy. Same with mites but they leave tiny brown dots on the leaves and not those "windows" which is what thrips do. Mites also leave webbing like most spiders wherever they go. Twice I've hunted them down and squished them by hand to get rid of them successfully. Tedious but effective if it's just a few smaller plants. You want to get rid of any bugs before you get into flowering when it may be impossible to get rid of them without destroying the buds.

You should have some kind of scope to find and identify whatever those tiny bugs are. Great for scoping trichs too at harvest time.

Good luck!

Yes there are small flying insects but not whitefly. v difficult to photograph. have just started using a homemade white oil, chilli garlic spray. will share results. Recipe.
Mix 1tsp garlic and 2 small chillis with 4 tbsp veg oil. For 24hrs. filter then add 1tsp liquid soap organic. dillute 1 litre water. use on cooler days.

Plants are looking healthy, the organic spray for thrips has minimised attacks. the largest plant is around 80-90cm. btw these seeds i got off the net, 3 seeds germinated out of 10, me thinks they are old, hmm. anyone know of a good seed bank?
