So you know the plumbing codes? My hat is off to you. I do mean that honestly. Knowing even the current code is a bear. Now, do you know the electrical code? The roofing code? HVAC?

If a house has galvanized or cast iron plumbing we call it out in an inspection report and let one of you dopes show up to tell the buyer whether it is code or not. I provide you a paycheck, you should be grateful.
dude youre not an inspector. i know all those codes.. hvac is the same codes as plumbing, roofing is common sense.. and electrical is too easy. an inspector doesnt ask a plumber if the plumbing is right. are you kidding me? the inspector already knows.. its why they are the inspector

I had an inspector tell me I couldn't wet vent a toilet, boy was he wrong. He was also telling me I needed a two inch vent, wich I had and he was wrong about that too. I could go on and on, but basically inspectors and the engineers are worthless piles.

I am not really interested in arguing with you. I did not set the standards for a home inspector in AZ, the state did when they adopted the ASHI standards. I follow the standards and make a good living as a home inspector. Suddenly codes are 'common sense' LOL!!! Maybe you are the one who doesnt know what he is talking about. You have to have your shit inspected right? hmm...

Anyway, if you want me to take you seriously at least you should accept what I do for a living. Otherwise it is hard to have a conversation.

Here is a link to the standards for a residential home inspector. The exclusion for 'Code' is in section 3.2-A #5. Check it out if you need material that will put ya to sleep.

Some are some are not. I dont claim to be an expert at anything. If you want to know if you can wet vent a toilet then call a plumber.
