I must say I'm sorry for my intolerance. My mood is not your problem! I made it that. Again, I'm sorry about the "classless" crap I threw at you....

I don't believe in flushing for reasons made quite clear. I find the writers of books and bylines that still preach the practice. As being less "reliable" a source of information for it.

ANY stress in late bloom can induce a bisexual response from the plant. I find your point that many/most do not get it as rather moot to the "can" statement I made vs. your point of contention on that. It is a non issue due it not being a "will" happen statement!

I have a friend who is getting an issue with nanners at week 5. He has grown the strain for years! I looked at his problem today. He has a problem with the way he is feeding a new nutrient line. He has high N and possibly some blocking due to overfeeding this new nutrient is the cause of the blocking.
Naturally I told him to feed less......I said that it maybe tied to our 18hr power failure a week ago also (his gen died last spring). It makes sense as it's exactly showing 5-6 days from the outage and he's in soil - classic response time, to an issue for soil eh? So light x cold x high N....

So, 3 different stress causes and up pops nanners! I can't find any other problem factors in his grow.....

So, feeding stress combined with other stress factors CAN cause "Herming".....I stand by my statement.

otherwise I too, agree that we can disagree on this topic!

Sorry for being a dick!
My bad day is NO reason to treat you poorly or insult you!

Btw @OrganiChron and @Dr. Who don't you both grow organic? We all know that's not the same as using bottled nutes and supplying proper salts instead y'all rely on your beneficial microbes and amendments to supply the plant with its nutrients. Wouldn't you say the two are pretty different I mean I run synthetic I starve for a week because their is plenty of nutrients in my pots already feeding how I do. Do you feed bottled nutes on top of your organic till crop day? Again I don't flush the last week they get a mix of shilajit, azos, and mycos WP.....
Soils feed with synthetics generally do have plenty enough to last a little bitty week .....any longer and?????
I hope none of my "shit" splattered on you!
It was certainly not intended!

I never flush or go to straight water with DWC. I'll pump out half the nutes and top up with RO to reduce the ppm to around 500 and maybe add some OverDrive to pump up the trichs a bit. I tend to crop the big top colas and let the lower stuff ripen up for another 10 days or so. I want something there for them to eat and grow with.

A slow dry and good cure is the secret to smooth smoking tasty buds. Not flushing. How do you flush an outdoor grow in the ground? :)

I start cropping when almost all the hairs have gone red and the trichs are 50/50, cloudy/clear just like Jorge Cervantes recommends in his grow bibles. Peak THC then.

:peace:
How do you flush an outdoor grow in the ground? :) you hit it on the head with that 1 line. I've always ask myself that simple question and that's exactly how I came to the conclusion flushing is some bs

Why would you starve a plant that is finishing the most important phase? It's stupid to stress out a plant that's flowering, it's what you're growing the plant for..
Technically... He's not starving them if he fed those levels at week 8 and if you look at his pics, they were well fed.
