Above I posted this: In fact I said earlier in this thread that the gov't needs to take care of our infrastructure (roadways, bridges etc) and punish crimes (not the made up victimless crimes like drug possession) and provide for the common defense.

To put it another way, there should be NO laws regarding possession of cannabis. I find it offensive that our gov't has arrested, prosecuted and incarcerated so many people for drug possession. What you do behind closed doors is no business of any gov't as long as you do no harm to anyone else. I'm an adult, therefore I should be allowed to do as I please. As should you!
In order to prosecute anyone, the plaintiff or DA should have to be able to demonstrate who was harmed by the person charged.

Considering the dismal "return" you get on your social security "contributions" I'd say anyone who is in favor of Soc Sec needs to look into how unfair the system is and how poor the returns are on it. It's particularly unfair to African Americans, statistically speaking.

Compare that with the fact that a 30 year Treasury bond (currently considered one of the safest places to put your money) is yielding better than 4%, the question becomes, "Why do we need a full agency to take your money from you at gunpoint only to give it back to you later?" Soc sec is a ponzi scheme. Bernie Madoff rightly went to prison for doing exactly what soc sec is doing.

If I'd come out and said I supported Soc Sec you'd have called me a hypocrite. And rightly so. At least I'm principled and polite.

I think we like a civilized society. Some don't. At my age I only give attention to those I agree with. Not those that live off the sweat of others. So why waste my precious time. He'd really be mad if he saw mine. But most goes to a very good public school. My kids are grown and away and I don't have hoodlums around me because we pay our taxes and teach our children. But most around me would bitch about taxes. They can't connect prosperity and education. Sad.
