Nute lock out? How do you know?

Plants are in in the end of week three of veg, dwc with two 300 watt mars hydro led lights(at about 24" away), using 1/2 strength Cyco platinum nutes, ppm stays around 300 and temps between 72-78. I've had ph problems. I'm not sure why the ph goes above 7-8 only a day after changing the res(any info would be great). Do I need to flush? Do I need more N. Please help. Thank you.

What are you using to ph down res?
is res sealed in a dark cool area?

When ph is out of range your plants cannot uptake certain nutes...which is a lockout. Or if nutes are out of balance it can cause lockout as well.

Ideal ph 5.8 for hydro.

provided your nutes are a good brand

I would say your not feeding enough

the reason your ph is swinging so fast is because theres not enough nutrients

bump them up to 700ppm

if you ph climbs fast not enough food
if your ph climbs more slowly your good
if you ph doenst climb .. TOO MUCH FOOD

if your ph is swinging more than 0.3 in 3 days feed more

for example ;
a good swing suggesting your nute ppm is close to the plants needs would be

Monday you set your ph at 5.8 and by the end of the week its 6.5... dump, change and reset ph

So what if I am now at 700 ppm I ph adjusted before feeding then like an hour later the ph was way up again. I have two large airstones in the 18 gal, I heard something about airstones raising the ph. Is this true? Or did I end up with shit for nutes? (Cyco platinum, highly recommended by the local hydro store and the retail growers here in wa but I couldn't find too much info online about it.)

it could be the ph from the previous solution is still leaching from your medium

lower it back down to 5.5 and let it drift again

see if it still drifts that quickly
if yes then yes I would bump it up to 850ppm

take a picture of each of the ingredient % info on each product you use and post it

then tell me how much of each in mls/gallon your using and how big your reservoir is

i see the feed chart but itll make my job easier if you tell me how many mls of each your adding to your 18 gallon res

i will look at it and get back to you in a couple hours

please verify (hard to read)
grow part B does it say 5% (K2O)?

the silica lists the K as 3%... does it say how much % of Si somewhere?


i don't see several of the micro nutes listed on any of these products
do any of them list zinc, manganese, or copper?


how much of each your adding

for veg nutes

i ran the numbers using all the products at exactly half strength what the directions say

its actually damn good

all good numbers and ratios and your EC is in range


your lacking in magnesium big time
youd want to add 1gram per gallon Epsom salt

the dr repair is putting your iron a little high you could drop it down to 1.5mls per gallon

even thou many of the micros/essential elements aren't listed i am going to assume there in the product even thou not listed

per gallon (4liters)
part A 6ml
part B 6ml
b1 boost 4ml
silica 2ml
enzyme 2ml
dr repair 1.5mls
Epsom salt 1 gram per gallon (magnesium sulfate for magnesium def.)

heres how i would arrange your bloom nutes

youll need to add in the swell

per gallon (4liters)
part A 5mls
part B 5mls
Epsom salt 0.25 grams per gallon
b1 boost 2mls per gallon
silica 2mls per gallon
enzyme 2mls per gallon
dr repair 1.5 mls per gallon
swell 5mls per gallon

these are all balanced ratios

the EC might only be 1.0 (low)which is where id start

if you find you have yellowing on the bottom leaves raise your EC (not above 1.3) by mixing the same ratios of each nutrient in slightly less water

this will guarantee that if your plants are showing issues itll be sure to be def and not toxic so you can confidently raise your EC if your seeing issues

In the 18 gal I put , 65ml of grow a&b (I add a little more grow a than b)and b1, 32ml of silica,uptake,zyme, dr.repair, 16ml if ryzofuel.


I just went out and got some cal-mag will add it in tomorrow and see if it helps.
