Anyone use SubCools "super soil"?....

I am thinking of using super soil in the bottom of my 5 gallon pot in a few weeks when I replant my little one. About 1/3 super soil on the bottom, and filling the rest up with roots organics original. Does anyone have experience/advice? Do I still need nutes?

I'm using a version of it. It works well. Especially when its cooked properly. The nutes you feed are mainly to keep the microherd alive and well. They are what feeds your plant. I give mine the runoff from a bokashi bin.

Makes a way better full run soil than super soil

Subcools recipe contains more water soluble ingredients like blood meal. Its a great starting point fir someone new to organics. Not sure what the hottest trend is anymore; Took a break from growing and made the switch to coco

Coot's is marine based rather than animal based

Well, I got a free bag of "kind soil" which mimics subcool. and since it was free I thought I might give it a try. You cant beat free. I will check out buildasoil, Clackamas Coot's mix, thank you!

Yes that's a good idea i been using it for the last 2 years off and on and i will never go back to synthetic., And no no nuts whatsoever just plain water., With some heavy feeders top drees maybe or teas but that's about it. U will love it and the taste is superb!!

I guess this is so the new roots and growth will not be directly in the kind soil, and will have a chance to adapt as the roots grow downward. Think I might just try it dahammmmmmmmmmmm nice bud

Question.....yes another one! I read somewhere not to waste our time or money using RO or distilled water because our tap water has calcium and magnesium in it, and RO and distilled do not~ as long as tap water is right PH its fine. your thoughts?

I have been using 1/2 distilled and 1/2 tap because my tap water is to high PH (7.0) and the distilled water is to low PH (6.0) . I mix them until I get a PH of 6.5. that way I dont have to use chemicals to up or lower the PH.

Thanks., And yeah do that but make sure u compost it for a month before using it so the nutrients can break down to. Usable form for the plants., The microbes in the soil will do that just make sure to keep it moist but not soacked

Its fine to use tap but make sure to let it sit for 24 hours with the cap off so the chlorine can evaporate., Chlorine will kill the good bacteria in your soil.

I use rain water with mine. Both our tap and rain water are alkaline. But, the tap water is highly alkaline. Versus the rain water being closer to neutral. Making it easier to get within range when feeding.

Just add water to the kind soil and place it in a 5 gallon pot with the lid on. Get it moist but not damp or soacked. Turn around the mix twice a week and keep it always moist but not damp. Keep doing that for a month then it's ready!!! GL

I have lots of containers, but none with cover. does it have to be airtight cover, or can a towel or something go on top? thanks
