So I didn't know where else to ask this but...
I'd like to daisy chain, well really connect drivers to a single input plug. How do I calculate how many drivers I can wago connect to a normal 110v plug before I blow up some shit. I see ppl daisy chaining drivers how do you know how many you can do?

Nice! Thanks! Good suggestion. What do you use for cooling? Pin sinks? Active or passive? I'm guessing active cooling w that much wattage in two chips.
how I added 100cfm fans to my 140x70 heatsinks

Hey Demas, 1.4A not 2.1A but I just bought a driver to power 2 x Vero29.
HLG-185H-C1400B
I wanted 2.1A with the specs of what i ordered but couldn't find any.
I am actually buying 4 x Vero29 with two drivers and was thinking of just getting one 320 that can run over 2A but was worried the wouldn't be enough Wattage and my budget is $100 (ex VAT)

I have small space only 1.3x2.6. 150W is enought for me.
Now i see 2option use
ELG-150-36A. A version i can adjust voltage.
Or buy ELG-150-C1750A becouse B version is not in stock. andd add some deep red to free 10-12V.

It is realy big problem over voltage ELG-150-c2100? i need only 3.2V more

I am growing small as well in 2.5ftx2.5ft, Gonna add a dimmer.
The ELG-150-36A only puts out 36V (enough for one Vero29) so you would need two.
The ELG-150-C1750A is 1.75A and should work but if you look at the Performance at Commonly Used Drive currents:
http://www.bridgelux.com/sites/default/files/resource_media/DS93 Vero 29 Array Data Sheet Rev A 20160622.pdf

The Ver29 Gen7 running at 1.7A uses between 38-70V and 93 -120W
Worth noting Timber grow lights use the HLG-185H-C1400B on their Vero29 package: http://timbergrowlights.com/400-watt-vero29-v7-4-cob-grow-light-kit/
This is my first light i have ever bought, gives me confidence knowing a reputable company uses the same setup..

I just added two strings of three Vero 29s to my veg light each on 185H-C1400 drivers. Not thinking i wired them up to COBs with 18g wire from trailer harness' rather than the 14g extension cord wire i used on my other light with same HLG-185H-C1400 drivers. The 18g should be sufficient for 1.4a but would i be stupid if i didnt redo with 14g?
The extension cords are only rated for 125vac but they are fine for 140vdc. Wire gauge charts tell me 18g is fine for 2.3amps or so but im worried it is too small. The trailer harness wire is what I used to wire up vero 10s on fastech drivers which output like 0.43a @ ?150vdc? (Cant remeber) and it has been fine there but this is 3x that amperage...
Thanks.

Edit,
well up and running and seems fine. Hopefully stays that way.

The new vero 29 se I used has a max gauge of 18 from what I read. That's what I used seems fine, wires are not hot. I used solid core wire.

If I plugged in something like this into an outlet
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Defiant-Plug-In-GFCI-Adapter-3-Wire-Grounding-30339036/203741464

and then plugged an extension cord with a power strip into that adapter, would everything then be protected by the gcfi?
in theory yes,but as far as that brand goes,it sucks lol.i had a power outage/surge here a few weeks ago that cost me alot of fucking money.all the power strip/surge protectors i got that were defiant went up in smoke.i had several "Belkin" brand power strips that did their job perfectly and are still usable so i got more belkin stuff and will never buy cheap power strips again.

Guys please help. I want to drive 2 Vero 29 B at 1.75A. I look at that driver: MEAN WELL ELG-150-C1750A
But... 2x Vero's are 180W, this driver is 150W?

Dang that sucks about the power surge. My surge protector Is a belkin I belive or some other deluxe brand. Good to know about the gcfi!

The input voltage is 180VAC to 295VAC, so make sure that your plug will work with those

Output= 86 v=max
Amps= 1750mA=1.75A
Vero's 29 B series run at 52V according to spec, so you cannot run 2 off that driver

I have two drivers, specs on them are

Model:1004p-60W (cheap Chinese driver, probably top out at around 60-100W I presume)
Out- DC- 55v-100v (0.065-0.0665A).

They are connected to a 12v fan at 0.3A.

Would 50v or 36v cobs be a better fit?

Would a HLG-320H-C1400A adjusted down to 1050mA perform as efficiently as a HLG-240H-C1050A at 1050mA? The 240H data sheet shows an input of 2.5A / 115VAC. The 320H shows an input of 3.5 amps / 115vac. I imagine those would be at a full load? seems kind of high for the 300 watt driver, my 400w HPS draws 3.6 amps at 120 volts.

Does an external potentiometer on an HLG B type driver function the same as the internal potentiometer of the HLB A type where dimming reduces current and increases efficiency?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe they function identically and you may see a few % added efficiency. From what I've read about most drivers is that they are most efficient near rated power.

What will the numbers be for? I want to run them around 50% do I achieve this byear using a dimmer switch and turning it half way down for full power?
