What's a good tool for mixing a Rez?
No I mean a pump. Stick a short hose on a small pump - say 76gph - to simply recirculate the res occasionally. Say, 5 mins every half hour or something. When you say pump you mean air stones?
Use an aquarium circulation pump and you won't have that problem.Fair warning though -- if you leave a pump running in the reservoir indefintely, it will generate some heat (although very minor when sized correctly). So if you want to leave it on permanently, make sure the pump is appropriately sized for the volume of your rez... ie don't put a 1100 gph submersible pump into 40 gallons of water
Would work well too, I don't have any problems with heat generated by the submersible, water temps sits nicely below (or at) 60F. I'm using a laughably small pump to keep the reservoir agitated . Any electrically driven motor will impart heat into the tank, except maybe those fancy split circ pumps that use magnets and the motor body is outside of the aquarium (but are magnetically driving the propeller in the tank).Use an aquarium circulation pump and you won't have that problem.
I dont know what yours is, but I have a circulation pump in my small setup that moves 800GPH while only using 6watts.Would work well too, I don't have any problems with heat generated by the submersible, water temps sits nicely below (or at) 60F.
