Hello everyone. Googled Isc newyork and got this (old) thread. But I'm in the same boat. I made two order with Seed Supreme on 3-31. Tracking says its been inbound to customs at isc newyork since 4-8. Should I be worried? How many people received their package after being sent in to ISC? TIA

It normally stays there for a few days but usps doesnt update the tracking like it should so you could be ok or maybe not. The real question is why order from overseas when you can get better genetics and no customs in the U.S. ?

Thank you for your reply.

I really don't wanna get off track of the OP title post but since you asked.....

This was my first time ever ordering seeds. I really didn't know where to look, other than using google. I checked out a lot of sites and most aren't clear on where they are located. Especially the US seed banks. Seedsupremes website sold me basically. It had all the right words on the main page that caught my attention. (Fast this) (Discreet that) (Free) (BOGO) etc.
Seems like a lot of folks have this problem with getting their seeds from them. I'm not trying to bash them by any means.
I did talk to a friend and he told me that he uses Attitude. They also are over seas but the reviews on them are top notch unlike SS. So I made another overseas order. *Waiting for this one to be dispatched by them to the post office.*
With all being said. The two orders I made with SS cost me 100 for 13 seeds. The order with Attitude cost me 125. for 27 beans. If customs does seize my shit. I guess attitude will make up for it. But I will keep my head held high and hope they all show up.

If I do receive my order. I will follow up to let you guys know. To help future views in the same shoes.

Next time try a U.S. bank, you won't get as many freebies but I've been much happier with the end product from us seeds. Here's a few to choose from:

Seedsherenow
James bean company
Platinum seedbank
Neptune seedbank
Artisan seed shop
Sol seeds

Neptune has really good freebies, like stuff really worth growing. Seedsherenow rarely has freebies but I've never got a seed from them that didnt germinate.

The word free is very enticing ya know!
I appreciate it, I'll give them a peek now. Thanks Chris

Few major problems with US seed banks:

1) There really aren't a lot of them and some are sketchy as shit;
2) They all have a pretty small selection - and of that selection, half their shit is always out of stock;
3) Their websites suck REALLY bad. It's actually amazing how shit poor the websites are - I have an issue ordering from anyone who can't have a proper e-commerce website made;
4) They're generally more expensive (and no, it's not because they have better seeds - that's silly talk);
5) They're US based - meaning the feds can walk in and seize all their shit, including their customer records. That's not going to happen to foreign seed banks running businesses that are completely legal in their own countries.

Now, US seed banks do have a few major benefits though:

1) quicker delivery! Nothing worse than waiting a few weeks for your seeds;
2) less likely to have your shit seized by law enforcement.

My preference is for foreign seed banks... Attitude, GYO, and Herbies all rock...although I may have to nix Herbies off the list if they don't update their shipping methods - been having a few too many seizures on their orders of recent. Actually, you know what, I'm going to make a new thread on that ;P

None of the ones I listed are sketchy at all and all have functioning websites. They also have access to breeders which are better than the common euro trash which sell seeds that are named after legit clone only strains but are nothing like said strains. I've done the euro thing and my quality shot through the roof when I started getting genetics from reputable American breeders.

Having looked a the websites for all the companies you listed .... all I can say is that you have proved my #3 point.... I suppose by limiting your praise to the businesses having "functioning websites..." ... you are technically correct, they appear "functional" but that's not saying much - they are otherwise garbage. I stick by my statement and your list proves my point that: "3) Their websites suck REALLY bad. It's actually amazing how shit poor the websites are - I have an issue ordering from anyone who can't have a proper e-commerce website made;"

"better than the common euro trash " See, now you're just being stupid and insulting to an industry that has been doing what they're doing for far longer than those in the US industry.... no real point in it and doing so immediately discredits anything you say after that in many people's eyes.

"I've done the euro thing and my quality shot through the roof when I started getting genetics from reputable American breeders." If you says so...my experience is not in line with that statement.

Given the major problems with US seed banks as stated in #1 - #5 ...for me, it's a no brain'r that foreign seed banks are far superior. That may not be the case in the future, as it becomes legal in the states and more business minded people get involved in the industry and grow it ... I think eventually that the US market will dominate in the area of seed banks ...but we a LOOOONNNG way from that point.

Are you serious? Euro trash? You mean breeders that have been doing this before some of these US pollen chuckers were even born? Where do you think the US breeders got their genetics from to begin with. Some of the best breeders in the world are Dutch and Spanish. Damn US seedbanks don't have anything many of us want. I could care less about the latest strain with cookies, skittles, sherbet, or cheese in it's name.

I don't think you meant it that way but that euro trash comment is rather offensive. I found it offensive and I'm American. Americans are no better than Europeans. I hope our European friends don't think all of us think of them as trash. I don't.

I'll buy genetics from European breeders like ACE, Cannobiogen, The Real Seed Company, Dutch Masters, and Sensi before I give most American pollen chuckers $20 a seed for their F1's all day long.

I like ace, cannabiogen, and karma but dotn act like you dont know what I'm talking about. Sensi is selling strains under the same name that it lost the parents to years ago. Dinafem and HSO are comprised of mostly strains named after clone only american strains that happen to be nothing like that clone only. It's a known problem that when breeders send their stock to Spain for companies to make their seeds that the quality drops and it comes out nothing like it should.

My last GYO order sat there 6 days, then slowly moved across country to my mailbox....

ACE, Cannobiogen, The Real Seed Company have some serious good genetics and what people like me want. People grow for different reasons. I grow as a hobby and a collector. But it's people like me that are saving genetics. I search out landraces, grow them out and turn them into hundreds or thousands of seeds. I'm old school. I was smoking the real seeded Columbian Gold back in the seventies. After years of smoking the couch lock offerings available today I realized I didn't like it. Everyone has their preferences.

I probably was somewhat critical in my previous post. It's just that I'm so sick of hearing about how these US pollen chuckers are so great. It's not that there are not good US genetics it just bothers me to see people disparaging the Europeans that have great genetics as well. And in fact the genetics that people like me want. I'm a collector of genetics. I don't want the latest Ice cream strain. I want the origins. I'll assemble it myself or at least give it a good try. Plus I'm saving and sharing genetics for the future.

It won't be long before you won't be able to get landrace strains from many regions of the world. I'll have those genetics to share. And I will. Maybe some European breeders are not what they used to be and are cutting corners. But there are many others that have some serious work behind what they are offering. A good portion of US breeders are just pollen chuckers with F1's they made with other peoples strains.

Regardless. I'm a collector and hobbyist breeder. I'm using the term breeder loosely. I make my own strains. I'm not doing this for money. I grow because I enjoy plants. All kinds.

The info is not entirely true. My seeds landed in NY, went to isc then straight to customs. Hell, my first order is still at customs office there. It's been there since 3-3-20. My second (reship) has been there two days in isc. I'ma out done with international orders. They never make it to me. This'll be the 6th time in recent years I've tried. Probably going to have to just order in the states. Shame cause the prices are higher than I'd like.
