Whatever you do do NOT use the convection setting on your oven. You will not like the results. It is simply not mechanically the same process as the Volcano. Plus you won't like the results and if you hit the self-clean cycle your fail will be obvious to your neighborhood.

Putting it in a bag for containment in the oven will not provide the circulation the direct flow of the air jet through the Volcano chamber provides.

Wrap your weed in foil. That'll reduce the loss from oxidation.

Thanks for the tip! Maybe it'll help contain the smell. The only way to get rid of smell completely is to cook something like stir fry to cover it.

I don't decarb the material I use in Oil. I only decarb when I'm making tincture.

@Singlemalt and @cannabineer both have terminal degrees in this field. They are the ones to ask for the optimal way to decarb.

Actually the Volcano will always have an edge on the oven because besides grinding it fine you are circulating heated air through ALL your vegetable matter. Now matter how you stir it in an oven it will never hit every surface area like the Volcano does.

However the oven should be good enough. But I am always impressed at how potent my Volcano vape duff is.

I've gotten super stoned on them by accident two times - fortunately I was in a position to be at home and off the road. I've been very ripped on edibles at levels around 500 mg. from a dispensary - The most ripped I've ever been in my life on cannabis was when I took 11 pills that were size 00... I was so stoned it took me twenty minutes to crawl 20 feet to my bed.

I save the duff from my Volcano too. Never got around to using it until one time I was making a batch of red pasta sauce; on impulse I added around a bit more than 1/8 dry cup into maybe 2+ quarts total volume of sauce. I cook with the sausage in, so a heaping plateful of linguine and 3 sausages was dinner. I was on my ass an hour later, really fucked up

FUCK YES! The weed seems best if vaped two times on 7... I've been telling people for years - "Sir, you're throwing away a lot of dope when you "burn" it in a joint or bowl instead of vaporizing it and saving the herb for eating."

There is so much good shit left - I love smoking weed, but I usually vape it for the pills...

There is a learning curve. Look at the colored graphic chart: when you actually burn the weed, everything comes out as a mix, so you have a mixed effect high of all components. In vaping you get a high of those compounds which vaporize at a and lower specific temp. If you vape at max temp. you'll get a high closer to combustion
