Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday restated his opposition to marijuana use and offered an ominous warning about state-level marijuana legalization efforts, suggesting that such policies would open states to “violence,” as well as potential repercussions from the federal government.

“I don’t think America is going to be a better place when people of all ages, and particularly young people, are smoking pot,” Sessions said to reporters Monday at the Department of Justice. “I believe it’s an unhealthy practice, and current levels of THC in marijuana are very high compared to what they were a few years ago, and we’re seeing real violence around that.”

I said he would go after it, and now he will. I think the old fuck needs sit down and burn a fatty. If Sessions goes after marijuana he may regret it, not that I think Trump will win in 2020, but this definitely won't help his efforts in the matter, but 2018 is coming and we need to get the right people in the house, and get rid of them anti-pot morons.
What Can we do? Suggestions Welcome.

State > Fed.

How many more times will they make empty threats? What do you think they plan on doing come 2018? Send in the Army? Pressure state officials? Fly planes overthr hills with pollen?

How about raid your house because they 'feel' you're using too much electric?

Huh? Fed's trumps state's on enforcement of federal law.

What can they do? Lots.

The DEA can raid any state's legal (or otherwise) grow facility, seize all assets, and arrest anyone they find or can link to the business. They can bust any dispensary (just like Canada just did). They can bust and clean out every seed farm they can locate (and they can locate all of the ones we know about).

And that's just a start.

The real question is what kind of assets are they going to aim at it and what are their goals. Will it be a shock and awe enforcement effort or more of a target and intimidate effort. Best case is they just want to intimidate states into rolling back rec and growers rights. Worst case is they want to shut down everything they can find.

Whose they? Why would they need to see how much electricity I'm using? Wouldn't they just raid my house because it's already illegal anyways?

If that were true me and plenty of others would be in handcuffs. Why haven't they raided all of the shops, collectives, growers, etc yet? What are they waiting for?

We are bullied to believe that and for the most part, perception is reality, but you're wrong about this. A good example is federal minimum wage and the few states that pay less.

feds say no medical benefit while the rest of the world disagrees, right in front of you, what you gonna do? courts? its been in court, still no medical benefits. obama was expected to effect change, but didnt. nobody I know has ever been satisfied with their current president, even if they voted for them. we're fucked.

No employer in any state pays less than the fed min wage (legally that is). They can pay more, but not less. There are states that have a lower min than the fed, but any employer that tries to pay less than fed min will be fined dearly. Could there be employers doing it? Sure, but they are asking for fines; it isn't legal (though there are exemptions for farm labor and other specific cases).

The reasons the feds haven't cracked down up until now is due to a number of issues. First, the Obama admin backed off enforcement in most cases where states passed legislation. The DEA did raid some grow houses and dispensaries, but only when the state laws were being broken as well as fed, and the state joined in. Secondly, it takes a lot of resources to go after this stuff. Their priorities have been focused on terror, human trafficking, and hard drugs.

If sessions decides to turn and burn, he can put a whole lot of feet on the streets looking at this and attacking it. There are relatively easy targets, and they don't need any state cooperation. He could redirect human trafficking and civil rights resources for example, leaving those as very low priorities.

It takes a little time to organize and redistribute field agents and prosecutors. Sessions was confirmed less than 30 days ago. But when the AG says they are going to enforce a particular set of laws, there is no reason he won't or can't.

Some people in legal states get raided based on their electric usage. Lots in illegal states do as well. But a lot of this has been state level enforcement, albeit with DEA participation in illegal states.

There is a very well know member here who was "visited" in CO because of his electric bill, where it's legal to grow. You can find the post with a little effort, check the quantum board thread.

Protip: only one substance was specifically made unlawful by a constitutional amendment, and it wasn't marijuana smarty.
