Root and Flip questions

Hello all,
I'll start with a brief rundown...

White Widow started from seed Feb1
1 inch rw cube in 3" netpot in 5 gallon food grade Bucket with 4 gallons water
6" round airstone with 4 port pump all ports into this stone
GH 3 part series
cal/mag
silica
floralicious+
seaweed extract
superthrive

lights 4 Cree CXB3590's running around 55 watts on HLG 240 1.4a driver

Questions are...
My roots are stained brown and I just want to be certain I don't have the rot. My nutrient solution is very dark and has always made my roots brown. Res is at 73 and I change every 7 days. Today's numbers are
ppm 850
ph 5.8
tent 79 degrees

Nutes go down around 80 ppm/day and about 1/2 gallon of water/day PH slowly going down from 6.0 - 5.8 last 24 hours.

Here are some pics hopefully, the darkest part of the root system is where they are very dense. No slime no smell and they are firm to the touch and nothing is pulling away from the root mass.

Should I flip now or wait? She's very short and bushy and I have about 6 inches on all sides of my 2x2x5 tent before she hits the sides. I have fim'd multiple sites and supercropped the main top.

She is around 12-14" tall

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

i'd skip the seaweed and superthrive personally. organic stuff in a dwc is usually bad news.

what are you using to prevent root rot? you might think about something like hydroguard. it would suck to get close to done and then get rot. your res temps are definitely in the danger zone.

So lose the st and seaweed i can do that. As for prevention I am at a loss. I've read soo many varying reports on pythium it's enough to make your head spin. I was leaning towards hydroguard but honestly i don't know. I'll grab a quart off of amazon and see where that leads me.

71-73 is going to be the best I can do as far as res temps (caribbean). Room has an ac and the tent has powered intake and exhaust.

What do you think about flipping? Should I wait until adding the hydroguard? This girl is crazy short and bushy and I can't see her getting much taller. I think i'll run out of horizontal room first.

Go Flyers lol....Bruins tomorrow but I can't get the games down here. Probably for the best because all my teams piss me off and I just end up throwing coconuts lol.

Use SM90 and your root problems are gone forever.

2.5ml or 3ml per gallon. In veg or flower!

Stop using around week 7 flowering.

Just stick with 3 part GH and Cal Mag and keep your pH at 6.0 to 6.3 in vegging. Use SM90 !

Your problems will be gone.

As for vegging fill your canopy space and flower it's that simple.

I already put an order in for hydroguard. Do you feel the sm90 is superior enough to order that as well?

I'm not convinced I have rot yet but I don't want to wait and find out either.

Also, any advice on filling the canopy space? I bought this 5' tent freaking out it was absolutely going to be too small but here I am 5 weeks into veg and this girl is only 14" tall with probably 8 or 9 nodes.

Oh yeah...can I trim away any of this beef? I'm getting shade all over a lot of sites under there.

Train your plants so you can get as many shoots as possible filling your grow space. Bend the plant over and let the branches shoot up. Then pull them down a bit and work the bottom and try to evenly spread it out as best as you can. Get dollar store string.

It's not about how many plants you can grow. It's all about your canopy size and filling in your grow space. The more shoots and roots, the more yield you can achieve.

Don't waste your time and effort and the costs associated with running a grow, unless you can maximize your space!

SM90 is superior to anything in my opinion but others have thier own success with other products. You'll have white clean roots everyday with SM90 and never have to worry again.

Totally agree on maximizing space, hence my 1 plant. I bend and coerce the stems at least once a day typically twice but have yet to tie anything down. I'm in there several times a day.

Initially, I thought I would need to scrog because of the height of the tent but I don't think that's even close to neccessary do you?

Just lst and get to gettin right?

I hope I don't screw myself by saying this but I'm going to wait on the sm90 since I already have the other coming.

I just clean up the most lower scruff fluff and concentrate on growing it out. When am nearing the end of vegging I'll clean it up a bit more. In flower I periodically move branches and space them out more and clean up lower shaded foliage.

You want some airflow under the plant so there is less chance getting a mold or the dreaded mildew.

Try not to remove more branches after week 3 flowering.

I've been using the Hydrogard for years with ZERO issues and 80's all day. I would definitely do a bit of pruning on the interior and lower stems-try to train the plant to make separate stalks so you get decent cola development. The staining is probably from the nutes you are using-root rot is a slimy mess so you'll know . That's a lot of light so make sure you don't scorch that girl. I just use the GH flora trio and add cal/mag during flower. Plants do really well fro me.

Quick question...

I just did a water/nute change for the week and added 20ml too much micro to the mix. Should have been 40ml I added 60ml. Did I just blow up my girl or will it be ok? This is in 4 gallons.

Should I start super cropping or wait for it to stretch a bit more? This girl is really taking off.

I'm using the 3 part GH transition feeding suggestion. Should I switch it up? Also, could the yellowing be from the light distance? Things are getting close fast in there.

i would give a flush with plain ph'd water for 24 hrs. start back on about half the nutes you used to get 1167

i've never gone above 1.2EC (600ppm) using GH.

the yellowing could be from nute lockout. 1167 ppm is like 2.2EC which is ungodly strong in my opinion.

i personally never touch my plants except maybe towards the very end of flower if i have some fan leaves blocking light. less stress the better IMO
