The problem is he could reach out to Democrats easily enough but the narrative in the right media was "this crazy Commie".

You cannot win an election with the left vote alone, you need to reach out to independents and moderate Republicans and to do that you need $$$$ UNTIL the system is fixed.

I disagree. I think that effectively representing the actual needs of one's constituents is the road to victory.
