Whats The Best Lighting Possible For Growing?

I have started to grow and my grapefruite Kush plant is 1/2 inch above soil. Right now i use a 26W flourecent light or something and then a 14W soft white light. I need a light that would be hte best OVERALL. My budget on a light alone is 100$. What is the best possible light i can get for my plant. I hear that this is a really good choice/

well the bulb is gonna run you $30 alone if you want that bulb.
100 only thing you can get is a 150w HPS

But if thats not an option, I have read that if you get one light get a HPS. However, you may need a ballast. CFLs are ok for vegging, but you will need more soon or you will get stretch. The HPS has more of the red specturm you need for flowering while the CFLs have more blue spectrum (needed for vegging). You can use the HPS throughout the growing cycles. They do get hot though. There are some great threads and FAQs on lighting that can go into much more detail for ya.

if a 100.00 is all you have then your best bet is to buy a number of cfls and standard floros. and you can use cfls for flowering... you can even buy red spectrum cfls for flowering....good luck...

He could try CraigsList. Out here it's polluted with people selling even whole hydro/indoor set-ups.

Single plant would do alright with a 150W?

because they aren't many high wattage 6500k cfls in the sotres only online.

and just to buy cfls the 40w are like $10 a pop so you would want at least 3 of those on one plant. the 26w are like $4-5. either get a fat 200w cfl or 3 105w cfls off 1000bulbs is ya best best
