Hi all. Just trying to home in my skills on the site, give a newb a chance if I've done something wrong. :bigjoint: . Failing that throw some harsh words or something.

Thought I would upload my groom and give a brief one on what I'm growing, get it all out in one post.

First off apologies for the state of the grow, I'm usually much more O.C.D about these things, but I had to get every plant out a couple of weeks back due to a short notice visit from the landlord to inspect the house :x . So I wound up just having to kinda throw them all back in all over the place.

I have in the groom at the moment:

Underground Originals #1.
Rare Dankness Scotts OG.
Sweet Seeds SAD.
Sweet Seeds Cream Caramel.
Sweet Seeds Black Jack.
Sensi Seeds Black Domina.
Underground Originals DiscoBiscuit. (Clones and new seeds.. Lost me mum in the landlord visit ).
KGBeans Psychosis.
KGBeans Girl Scout Cookies x Psychosis.

I'm currently running 4 600w Lumatek's and 2 400w Lumateks all in parabolic's. Mountain Air filter being run from a silent box fan, which as it turns out is about as silent as harrier jump jet o_O.

I got maybe 4 weeks left on this lot then I am hoping to switch over to Quantum Boards for at least half the groom. All though given the results I have seen I might just make the jump and do the entire thing.

Hope everyone is good and smoking something nice. :peace:

lol. mate... Honeslty, its a nightmare now.

Originally I had a channel down the middle with a pea net holding everything in place. Since the visit I have had to loose the pea net, use bamboo to hold up those bigger colas and just get them in there as best I can.

I have to move about 6 or 7 out the way then crawl on me hands and knees with an hose pipe in me hand coming from my 250l water butt. :wall:

I suggest looking into an automated watering system ....there actually very easy to put together and it will limit your crawling through the jungle experiences ......although running through my greenhouses asshole naked is one of my favorite past times......just don't run backwards close to harvest:shock:

Looks good
Welcome

I have a bit of experience in Hydro, and this is the first grow in this new room. Before this it was a 2.4 tent in there.

Learned very quickly watering by hand is a serious pain in the ass. So Im going to give RDWC a go on the next grow.

Cheers for the welcome.

Room looks good and your plants look happy! Next time I would consider trays, or at the least saucer rollers/caddy. The rollers are kinda pricey, but you could find some cheaper if you look. If you get trays, you can build cheap rolling trays for underneath your trays for under $150. It would help you tremendously to have the ability to get in and out easier. It looks like you might be limited on the ceiling height. If so, look into throwing up a scrog net or two. Like said above, automatic watering is the way to go. If that isn't a possibility look into a pump and wand combo for hand watering. This will cut your watering times dramatically, and if you get a long enough wand, you might be able to reach the plants in the back without stepping in the room. :bigjoint: Happy growing.

I'm defo' going with RDWC after this grow.

I will also be using the SCROG as I want to go with LED and need the height. Although the pic does come across that way I must admit, but the shades were lifted for the pic, otherwise its hard to get an idea of the room where the Parabolic's can go so close to the canopy.I have about 4-5 feet from the tops to the ceiling.

Tell me about it mate. I'm right behind you. Robin has been kind enough to respond to a PM. I'm trying to get an idea of most efficient / safest way to run 4 boards into a single plug. I have a 6 socket contactor, but I don't want a plug for every 2 boards. But if I can do four x 4 board units and two x 2 board units I'm in good shape to use the 6 plug contactor.

Safety first.. (:

I just stand back now and stare at the parabolics costing me a likely 30% more to run for less light efficiency :wall:

The rough estimate of wattage draw with the QB's covering the room is 2600w, down from 3200w of HPS. Plus I so love that dimming option.

Another great aspect of the LED / QB lighting, when in early veg in a hydro system you CANT squeeze your pots under 2 lights, the system is fixed so you have to run all your lights. Can you imagine running all those parabolics over 36 4 inch clones in a RDWC?

But with the QB's I can practise turning them down in early veg, once again saving on consumption. :bigjoint:

@G.V 2x 240h-c1050b drivers to a 10amp male iec socket then iec lead to cont-actor.. A terminal block would do but i like things hardwired .

If you dont like soldering, spade connectors work well. you can get "piggy back" spade connectors too to connect 2 wires to the iec socket.

This was the exact original option as it happens. I had seen others using the 240, but I was thinking there might be a driver that can do all 4, less space in the unit.

I wouldn't be able to just have the boards hanging, I will have to build at the very least a frame, so less drivers to mount would have been a touch.

But if the 240-1050 is the best option I will have no problem having two in each unit.

There is a big HLG-480 too, run all 4 at once. Not cheap tho'.

Sup! Robins a nice guy huh!

You can hang the QB straight from the heatsinks so you dont even need a frame, the best way to go i reckon. small and light - great for moving about and getting light levels on canopy absolutely perfect if its slightly un even :)

i try not to look at my parabolic mate haha!

hmmm cool, i need to school up big time on the electric side of things - like seriously!
i have 2 boards per 240w driver plugged straight into multi plugs. I read somewhere recently that if youre running quite a few panels you should stagger the start up times by a second or two.

Hi VerticalGrow :peace:

They were a little varied on this one. The Scotts OG and Black Domina only had about 3-4 weeks from breaking the soil surface. The others had a full 6 weeks.
forgot about the scotts!

Got quite a few varied smells this one. One particular plant is almost lemon sherbert, lovely. Another is almost a spicey strange smell.

Tooks cuts as always so anything really nice I can keep back.

Got a Black Domina dad and DiscoBiscuit Dad from this lot too.. :weed:
