this might be a dumb question but is it bad to transplant during flowering? my plant just entered its third week of flowering and i noticed little roots growing out of the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. i just don't want to do it and then end up stressing it out and cause a growth stunt.

how many more weeks is there left? if there isn't much just finish it off if so you could trans plant it it might just make it take longer to finish off

transplant them!! If your only in the 3rd week of flowering then you still have at least a month and a half to go. Your plants will continue to grow at the stage they are in if transplanted, which means you'll get more yield as well.

how tall are they and what size containers are they in. roots coming out the botttom is normal. at the third week the stretch should be over. u should have a foot of growth for every gallon. if they are 3 feet tall and in one or two gallon containers consider transplanting. roots grow down so u will seee them come out the botttom.

isn't doing root bound on perpous juring veg and transplanting into the final pot be a better way to give it all the root room ti'll need juring flowering and make it so that they are less likly to out grow their pots before they are finished flowering?:leaf:

better too big than too small. but there is not enough info to answer correctly
I want to be able to do SOG insted of a big plant and that's why I want to have a big plant in a small pot that and once they have out growen the 1 galon pot I'll be killing her off and take her for all the clones she can offer:leaf:

nothing personal but i do not understand. if u sog in a one gallon than the plant should not get that big u would have to start flowering at a small size and hope u have a strain that does not stretch. usually its one gallon per foot of height. if u are sogging that means u r flowering and taking clones from a flowering plant is not recommended. it can be done easily but it is not the best way to do it.

oh no I'm gonna almost root bound the moms and dads from seeds so that when I plant them into a pot I can manipulate how much room their roots take up. so that I can get the most amount of time for taking clones off of them and once they hit 1 galon I might keep them going or I might kill them off I'm not usre yet and with the clones I'm root them then flower them

Just get a bigger pot full of dirt and set your potted plant on top of it. roots will grow into new dirt and everyone is happy with simple solution.

This is a good idea and some have done this. You cut the bottom of the small pot off(very carfully that is). Then put it on top of a bigger pot. Then the roots will better grow into the bigger one's soil. Instead of just out of the drain holes if you just put it on top of it. Then you don't have to worry about stress from transplanting.

Edited to add this link. Here's how it is done.
