That is correct you have 2 optionsSo how do I test how much amps am I pulling in my tent on 220 V power? Got a killawatt but looks like it only works with 120vac.
You would put the 2 hot wires that are carrying the load you want to measure and clip the amp reader around them. One reason I suggested that one was because it is the clip style. All that is left is to give the unit power.@qballizhere Thanks for the info and reply!! I will look into how to use that bayite.
And I bet Apple is monitoring and collecting all that data on what your running in your house for electronics.. no thanks. There is a company that was featured on Thisoldhouse recently that makes wireless, apple accessories for monitoring power consumption as well as automation, iphone or tablet app. 220v and 120v, has real time power curve and cycle wave data logger with equipment failure diagnostic software.
Riiiiight. I assume you aren't serious but if you are I would be VERY curious as to how you think an app would know what you have plugged in?And I bet Apple is monitoring and collecting all that data on what your running in your house for electronics.. no thanks.
Depends on how it monitors power usage. Look at "smart" power meters, they can be used to identify what equipment you have in your house. Might not be able to tell specifics, but they can tell if you're running hid lights, or a electrical dryer, or stove, and when they are running.Riiiiight. Yeah.. because there's never been any incidents where government or private corporations have been monitoring citizens activities without thier knowledge or consent.. oh wait..NSA, Internet providers, cell phone manufacturers, smart TVs. No tin foil here, just sound reasoning based on past history.Yeah its all a conspiracy....id stay in moms basement where the tin foil blocks THEM from molesting my thoughts.
Yes the clamp metter. I found it after I bayite which came home yesterday. This is the tool you are looking for. You can check the load right after the plug.
