No point in running dual 185h drivers for only 90v or so. Grab the 120h and save yourself some money. They output 148v at 1050mA.

I would run those Samsung strips at 700mA and call it day. You gain very little output when going from 700-1050mA on those strips.

Ya but the thought was in a few months ill grab another like 4 or 8 strips and add them in. so the bigger driver would allow that room right? or is my logic just totally wrong and the 2 drivers is for a specific reason, my space is going to be changing and i need the flexability to shift them.

You can't use the 185h-c1050b for your application. It outputs 95v-190v, but your 4 strips require less than 90v. You'll need the 120h to do what you need it to.

We miscommunicated. I have 16 strips total and want to run them in two banks of 8 currently. eventually it will be 2 banks of 12 or 16.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. For 16 strips, 8 strips each you can use the 185h. If or when you upgrade to 12-16 strips you'll need to upgrade to a larger driver as the 185h-1050 can only handle 190v.

The 700mA version outputs around 286v so if you choose to go with it you'll have headroom without needing drivers to upgrade.

Its a complicated situation that involves 2 seperate things. One i was planning on eventually replacing my HPS light in end of june when i move to my new house and going to LED. Ive got plants that are basically over-vegged right now. My balast took a giant crap unexpectedly so i had to lose that crop or run out and grab a lighting option asap. I dont have the full budget i would have at the end of june but i did have enough to grab those samsung h strips when the price dropped and it was a bargin and still have the room for drivers. Im trying to just make it all work somehow. End of june i'll have a budget to get basically anything i want. I just dont want to sacrifice the plants i have right now. Thats whats lead me down the road of having some wierd requirements to try and make it all work without throwing away and starting over. And at the same time communicating in text is often difficult for me because im far from stupid but have a learning disability. If this was communicated in person it would be a totally different situation to my understanding level and how to explain what i need.

When the move happens tho the space i have avaiable for flower is going to be the same volume of area to do it but it will be in two seperate rooms, i was hoping to be able to get 2 drivers now that way i could seperate them when the move happens and add more strips into them. Does that mak any sense at all? And the strips i have are the 16 samsung h ones.

HLG-120H-C700 = 5 - 8 strips
HLG-185H-C700 = 6 - 11 strips
HLG-240H-C700 = 8 - 14 strips

Why dont you for now look on craigslist and get a florescent light for cheap or free to keep them alive... then you dont have to rush all the led stuff
