How do you go about flipping from veg to flower?

How about you simply start the flip when the plant has vegged enough to only stretch as high as the light limits it?

Go ahead and super crop if need be! If you keep stressing with different stress factors in bloom. You'll soon learn why not to..

I tried super cropping around week 3 veg, but my stems are not very pliable. They are quite hard, stiff, and thick. No puns intended. I tried to bend it ever so slightly and snapped the sonbitch right off. so i've been doing a small bit of low stress bending. with very little results.

S*** the person underneath me is absolutely right I just figured you guys would do more research before going and bending your plants do not hurt your babies. Absolutely you want to water heavy the day before and the day of a super crop

I don't mean to argue with you but when I stress my plants it seems to shed more THC and pump up the buds doing scrog the past few seasons has been boring me I took the cage out and I'm doing super crop this season to see the difference. I haven't decided which one I prefer best yet I'll let you guys know. Scrog is cool though when you bend your nugs over blue screen just catches it a lot less chance of you plants being stressed that's for sure as you guys can see I'm still tying mine with strings because I'm afraid of stressing them too much

Anyways if I wanted to scrog my plants I would just put my f****** cage back in in my grow room you're not the only person in the world and knows how to grow good weed notice how I haven't dog on anybody else's b*******stupid f***** up dumb ass grows like yours because I'm not an a****** like you shut the f******up troller and leave me alone if you have some advice for these guys give it and be nice about it f*** You Very kindly f*** you very much

I know a few people like to leave every third or fourth light as a MH light or use hanging vertical MH lights to suplliment their HPS lights and provide a different spectrum to try and keep the stretch down

That's true I'm currently mixing both right now I have a smaller MH light shining from the bottom and my big my on top das in flour to beef up the light

I really think she's turned out to be a keeper for sure! I plan on working with her alot more over the next few years, and maybe work in some other strains aswell. She's a Juicy Fruit x Blueberry Hashplant. I was thinking about working in some cross that has Exoctic Genetics " The Cube" up in them to add alot more trichome coverage.

Thanks. Yeah I've been working with that particular strain for a long time now. Try to be super selective when it comes to phenos. I'm trying to locate some Starfighter, and some Big Smooth, along with either a damn good Cookies strain, and or a Alien strain.

I have worked out auto crosses in the past, just with all i have going on now I wouldn't have the time to put my full potential into it like I'd like to. However I do have some I will be working out in the near future. Hell I have over 15 different strains going as of now, just started 10 new ones lastnight.

I only have 5 strains right now I could possibly hang my 600 watt light outside of the closet and do more but the closet seems to be doing well. The cookie strains are really weird same with my alien they get random leaves that have so many crystals on them it's retarded and at a very early stage 2

You're on the right track if you want to reduce your stretch. The reason they stretch so much when flipping straight to 12/12 and MH to hps is the difference in Kelvin (colour rendering) between the two bulb techs. The greater the colour difference, the greater the stretch. So if you wanted less/minimal stretch, leave them under MH for 2 weeks and that should reduce your stretch.

I noticed this as I've tried several flowering techs and looked into it. I even noticed reduced stretch when I switched from 3100k CMH in flowering to 3500k COBs.

How was the penetration/frost/density with the ceramic mh vs the cobs? Guy at the hydro shop was talking about the extra uv in cmh being able to aid in trich production. Just curious if you noticed any big difference

Your plants look fine. The super crop is odd thing to be done at that size plant.....I see no real benefit......SCROG would do more with less plants to have to work. Taller plants that would fill the area would do better in their own way too.

The Philips 315w CMH is the best bulb/ballast tech out there imo, quality/trichs and production wise. Penetration with either tech is a non-issue, both can build 30" buds with little popcorn. idk about the claims about higher potency but they grow top shelf bud. For the price/watt if I hadn't had the cash to invest in the COBs I'd still be running it. No problem recommending them if you're looking at them. Just be careful with ballast compatibility, if you can get a unit with the Philips ballast I'd recommend paying a little more as they know how to drive their own bulb. Have heard some knock off's not performing as well and they need specific ballasts to fire and run the bulb properly. Bulb life in the Sun Systems with the Philips ballast was ~ 1 1/2 years then started to drop off in production. The most prominent feature with this tech is it finishes anything you put under it about a week faster than any tech, must be something in their spectrum as this has been reported by many users.

The COBs, I have mostly Cree 3590's running at 1400ma and recently added some Citizen 90cri COBs that I'm just finishing the first round with and seem to perform as well or better than the 3590's. Looks like they finish the plants faster, have to validate next round with some known clones as my first run under them was 2x 5gal from seed. I just pulled a Panama reg sativa (pulled it last night, see pic below) that's said to take 11-13 weeks in 70 days under the Citi COBs. Production is about the same as CMH, maybe a little more, easy to get 1 gpw, even in pheno hunts from seed. I don't do commercial grows for weight, do a lot of breeding and pheno hunts, typically running 6-8 strains and average 1.1-1.3 gpw at 30w/sq./ft. What sold me on sticking with the COBs has been potency and terp production. I had a couple of phenos that I'd been running for a while and when I ran them under the COBs it was like running a whole new strain, the terps are through the roof strong in comparison to when I ran them under the CMH.

To your question on penetration with the COBs, this is the Panama (smaller of the two I ran) from seed I pulled last night at 10 weeks. The door is 36' wide, the door knob is 37" from the floor, it's in a 5 gal fabric pot.

Thanks SO much for the run through man!! Going to save this for when I'm ready to start researching more! Plant looks killer! That are some donkeys for sure. What the deal with the heat output and light distance between the two. I enjoy heavy training so I'll have an even canopy. Just curious about the heat and how much distance is needed?
