28, nearly. I served 4 years as an infantry rifleman. Got blown up in Afghanistan back in '09, and served in the worst valley in Afghanistan. Where I was is now a no-go zone for all coalition forces, to include SOF, because 2 years after my unit opened that valley up, a bunch of SEALs and Rangers got wasted there.

I was on TDRL from 2012 until the date on that retirement cert.

Well, fuck, we didn't know. My unit was the first one there. Built that COP from the ground up. I was only 19.
