The Truth About Flushing

Hey @RM3, After reading more of your threads I can tell that you are a good dude, still unsure about "drowning the bitch" lol
He presents himself as an expert and tries to come across as a good dude so people don't question his stupidity.

He's just trying to help after all....

RM3 needs to get a job at Greenhouse cause they are the same level of scum IMO.
I'm bored on a Sunday afternoon. Link to thread please?

"I use T5 HO lights for both veg and flower, I have never owned a carbon scrubber because my garden never stinks unless there is something wrong and that is very rare. My garden is a 5 X 5 area with 1000 watts (16 bulbs) of T5 mixed spectrum lighting in a fully open 500 sq ft room (basement) I use Chem nutes from JR Peters, Jack's Citrus FeED and Jack's AquaGold and DynaGro's ProtK (silica) for Cal/Mag I use gypsum and Epsom (Calcium Sulfate & Magnesium Sulfate) instead of flushing at the end I hit em with Potassium Sulfate."

Writing books about a 5x5.

Wow. How is it that nobody on that forum even bothered to question his methods?

It seemed very convincing at first, but the problem is that they argue that it doesn't matter if it burns clean or has thick black chunky ashes. That part really made me question everything

LOL well ya, hence the name changes lol. Lots question him but he's gotten less combative (code word for douche Like) with the last change. I have to admit that some of the stuff he says is relivent but yes lots is pretty controversial and as for his business model ..... well I think he's a bit hypocritical. Anywhoooo I don't discount anything from anyone until I try it myself and even then it's really just a plant so it's all good ;).

I enjoy reading RM3's methods and reasoning.

People trying and experimenting with different ideas is what makes growing interesting. It also makes threads enjoyable to read and creates debates. Be very boring if we all used the same light the same medium and the same everyfknthing.

In regard to the "dig" at his lighting. Lots prefer T5's. Just like every type of lighting it has its pros and cons. One thing i dont like about this forum is the assumption that the lighting that they choose to use is the best. The best lighting is the one best suited to you.

On of my must respected Forum friends on here and his friend (both well known growers on this forum) have visited him and have said RM3s herb is exceptional as have others. What he does , whilst strange to some must work for him. And aint that what its about?

Well I'm not sure if it was described as exceptional, if I recall, and I could be wrong, I think it was more of "its good" but yes it sure looks nice. The thing is he used the words "could the best in the world" as reviewed by others. That's a pretty lofty statement lol. I do agree that it's all about what works for you.

Maybe they didn't use the word exceptional but they were impressed nevertheless

No. Just, no. T5s have their place in the veg room, but anybody trying to use them for flowering is going ass backwards. It just doesn't make sense. Aside from CFLs(again, another florescent), they are literally the worst option you could choose for a flowering room. That's a fact - not an opinion. The only pro to T5s would be in limited head space situations, and in this realm QBs and softly run cobs shit all over florescents. Those are facts, not opinions.

So your agreeing with me? They, like all lighting options have their place.

Im not gunna argue pros and cons of all lighting on this thread..tis all been done before.
The guy we are talking about is using T5s for flowering. I clearly stated that they have their place in a veg room, which you conveniently cut off when quoting me. T5s in a flowering rooms are just dumb.

But yet people use them and get good results..so who gives a fk.

Yeah, sure. If you want to chop off the end of my sentence and use it out of context.

Nice work.
well,,u kinda took my comment and agreed with it and then rambled some and started arguing the benefits of one type of lighting over another...I think every reg forum member here knows RM3 uses T5 in flower. Its a cool lookin setup to.

People DO use CFLs and get good flower.
People DO use T5s and get good flower.
People Do use LED and get good flower.
People DO use HID and get good flower.
People DO use the SUN and get good flower.

It works for them so good luck to em.

I say again. If everybody grew with the same lights and medium and the same everyfknthing it would be pretty boring.

What he's doing isn't experimenting. That would take an original idea and a capacity to admit something doesn't work, I have not seen this.

All I've seen is old hippy shit that was proven wrong decades before I even thought of growing. So what's that then? Just blind ignorance I'd say.

Of course you can grow weed under t5's. 1000watts of t5's is a little ridiculous. Seems like dudes stuck in the past to me.

No one is saying everyone has to grow the same. I don't care if he uses t5's I don't care if he doesn't use filters. I don't care if he jackhammers the concrete out of his basement to grow right in the dirt.

I care he's presenting things as facts that aren't. Saying that plants don't smell if they are healthy is retarded. There's no defending a statement like that. It's wrong. You know it's wrong, I know it's wrong. Everyone knows it's wrong. I copied the T5 bit because it has been my experience and many others on this forum that plants grown under florescence smell even more. I'd argue the opposite of what he says is true as evidenced by all the new growers who fuck up and end up with hay smelling and tasting shit.

How could you trust anything this person says when they say something so bloody ridiculous.

Lol, yesterday I was busy watering the vegging plants in the garage.
My wife came out to see where I am. I handed her a 1-foot plant and asked her to smell if it is putting off a smell yet. ( I have very little sense of smell).
She burst out laughing, apparently, she can smell them outside, just walking up to the door.

"Good" is subjective, one might take it as "sufficient", another "nearly sufficient", but neither are stating that it's "mind blowingly extraordinary".

There is an optimal light source/intensity/spectrum/proximity.
There is an optimal medium.
There is an optimal nutrient regimen and delivery.
There is an optimal temp.
There is an optimal humidity.
There is an optimal CO2 level.
There is an optimal... etc, etc, etc.

If everyone grew within the optimum of all metrics it would be fucking amazing. (Fact, not subjective opinion).
