It's more like amazed 8)

they smell just fine once harvested and cured, just not while growing and this too has been duplicated by others 8)

I ran automobile dealerships for most of my 20 year career and closed 1000's of customers on high line products. And was in charge of 100k of advertising per month at one point in my career.

Not much I guess. They only paid me 6 figures for it.

If you've been around the block as much as you say you have then surely you've witness the difference from strains grown with natural lighting an artificial lighting? Don't you tout CDMs' as a better spectrum to grow with?
Not trying to be disrespectful here but from experience , intensity and spectrum combined always gives me the best a plant has to offer. Doesn't matter what nutes' you use or how many additives you think you need, as long as it's a fairly balanced diet.

No dis taken, at all....

You bet I see/smoke a diff. Part of why I run the way I do, with a 1K and a 400w Merc vapor bulb just under the hood glass.
I get great UVB and deeper blue spectrum's then most MH. The sorta new, dual arc bulbs are interesting.....

I am interested in CMH (same thing-prob not the right way, and someone won't like it - :razz:). The thing is, for me, It's foot print is too small and I run some tall plants....So delivering 1.4K is the rats ass to me....

I do a cpl of outdoor plants every year - for personal X-mas buds. Thing is where I live. You get too late a finish and they tend to be a bit loose from it. I can't begin to think about putting them in a business "owned" existing greenhouse. Nor build one on my home property.....I get enough "compliance checks."

No "nose" from a pot grow is a very bad sign. Knowledgeable/experienced growers should be able to identify most of what you're growing (if not "known" strains, types/related) before ever laying eyes on the plants (via poor filtration, or "blind" entry, etc.). Less nose, less terps, less "developed". For you home growers, your nose will become acclimated to your plants "nose". Leave the house for a while (only way to be sure that you're not acclimated scents escaping your room/ventilation). One in particular is a vine plant I took cuttings from. They are growing in water with no air stones under the flexible led strip that lights a bookshelf. They love it. I just add some nutrient water as it evaporates. Change the water out every once in a while.

In the world of what I'm doing, they are not going to do what I need.
Yet! LED tech moves so fast that by the time you have next best thing built and running. It's sooo yesterday!

I have 4 T5 8 place banks. A shit ton of bulbs bought at wholesale rates. I use them for vegging. I am about ready to move on to something more, um, modern. I'm leaning COBB but still attracted to CMH and that's changing a bit too (not anywhere as fast as LED).

But right now. If T5 is what you can afford for a small plant/small area grow,, it's still a good choice.....You can do plenty of spectral adjusting and makes for a good platform to learn and grow on.

As far as you "not seeing how anyone could use T5's for bloom." This indicates your bias towards your choice. While I understand and I'll say it again, "your view on the mercury issue." It does not remove the fact that in the right instance, T5's are still a viable choice....

Look Head, drop the unbecoming name calling shit and see that while we both have points....I happen to be correct on this part.

I do rather regret making such a wide open statement. I guess that was my way of throwing back your "across the board dismissal" of them....I'm not sorry for it.....I suspect your not either......fair enough?

See CMH is another great alternative to T5's why not get a HPS. or a MH and keep the bulb behind some sort of protective glass? The cost to flower under t5's at least where I am if I am buying quality fixtures and bulbs would be easily comparable to a CMH setup... and that's going to blow T5's away in flower. Or get a cheap $200 HPS off Amazon. the cost of that will be prolly half? a quarter? of what flowering under flourescents would be, in my experience anyways.

I know lighting in the USA is a lot cheaper. Maybe this is a viable route to take for yanks. I spent just as much growing with CFL's as I did on my 400watt setup and all those CFl's went right back where I bought em to be recycled free of charge... how nice of them. $200+ in fixtures y spillters and easily $200+ in bulbs. I hold a grudge against flourescents and I'm not afraid to admit it. Throwing out plants because of broken bulbs is fucking annoying for a small scale grower like myself, not to mention added cost.

The 400watt HPS killed the CFL's in every way possible. It's why they went in the trash. T5's are different than CFL's I realize this. But the cost of investment is about the same, with CFL's maybe even being a bit cheaper. Good fixures and bulbs cost money unless you can get that shit next to free it's better to spend your money on a CMH, HPS, MH, LED's. even a cheapo HPS MH CMH will do better. Cheapo LED's not so much lol.

In my experience anyways.... I wasted a lot of money when I first started trying to cut corners and do things the cheap way. I ended up spending way more than I wanted to and got not great results, acceptable but no where near what I wanted. I like to try and help people not make the same mistakes I made.

One of those great pieces of advice I took could have even been from RM3... some jackass told me you don't need a filter for 1-2 plants. So I listened. And my whole fucking condo smelled like my 1-2 plants. I don't like bad advice, so I try my best to not give it and dissuade people from taking it. Like I would have tried to dissuade Whitebb from growing auto's but alas I am too late. :) :)
