i stick a seed in the RRs and pop them in something similar to an aerogarden. only 1 seed has failed to pop so far (fingers crossed) in like 6 years.

don't know about you @chemphlegm but i've never had the problem of the hole being too big.

I suppose you turn them over and use the bottom hole as it's tighter. Do you get much stem rot?.

Try coco+seed tray OP, not the taboo it use to be.

With coco pellets the delicate root hairs all get to grow laterally, instead of dieing inside the too large hole. Another thing I thought of was a hypo syringe can be used to deliver a small amount of nutrient to the roots without over watering

The silicone water beads is an experiment prior to getting the coco pellets. They keep the exterior of the net pots moist moist

This is tempting me to take clones of my revegging lady. Haven't currently got anywhere to put them. Unless you count a half finished cabinet. Light is in. But exhaust needs to be swapped out. Fucker is too loud.

I tried the the little coco-peat briquettes things last time. None of the first attempt survived. Beginners misfortune I guess.

Just plant your seeds directly in the correct sized grow bag from the start. a 4" diameter bag is about right and should be fully grown in in 10 days as the pictures in the above link shows.
Step up to a bag 4 inches bigger every time. It should take no more than 10 days to go from each step to the next.

Remember to prime your coco with a weak PK bloom nute before planting seeds. This creates very fast initial growth with massive thick stems by day 10 (almost 1/4").
Those first 2 weeks are critical to the end result. I feed as little as I can get away with without plants showing distress and adapt to the individual plants that seem to have different feeding needs than the rest of the group. (Usually, plants going purple or red), as well as occasional cal mag issues that are common with coco, and easily remedied.

For the record I am talking about gardening. You two are just filthy... learn to sterilize your equipment between planting seeds or filling pots. That is all.

Should've bought the generic ones.
I think sowing directly in whatever substrate you use is best but understand new growers may have trouble getting that air/water ratio right.
I have a sealed tray with little squares filled with coco (cant remember the name) but I may have to open it up and give it a try.
Havent worked with coco in awhile and its time I started using up some of this shit laying around.
Just looking around my supply room I see I have a case of NFTGs too. Might have to see what that's all about.
