To figure GPW. You simply take the total dry harvest weight and divide by the watts the light is rated to.

So to give an example. You have 4 plants. Under 1 light that yielded a total dry weight of 1583 grams. The light is a 1000watt HPS.

The GPW would be 1.583 grams per watt...

GPW is rather meaningless in a big way. It does not really show a growers ability, as a wise grower can destroy GPW numbers by using the SOG method and proper lighting in small area's....

In reality. GPW does help you figure if your effectively using the available lighting being delivered by a bulb....

Beyond that, It's just a dick slinging contest. Sorry ladies.

The problem with the grams per watt metric is that it doesn't take into consideration how long your veg and flower cycles are.

A better, but still not perfect, metric would be grams per kilowatt-hour. As an example, using Dr. Who's numbers and 1000 watt light, if you take clones and veg for 30 days at 18 hours per day, then flower for 60 days at 12 hours per day, your light has consumed 1260 kilowatt-hours to grow 1583 grams, or, 1.26 grams per kilowatt-hour.

I don't mean to dick sling I just trying to figure how much I'll get with a 4x4x6.5 with 600 w hps and 300 w led and 200w CFL and some
Genetics OG Kush(West Coast line selection) x Ruderalis
Sex Feminized
Variety Mostly Indica
Flowering Type Autoflowering
THC Content Very High (over 20%)
CBD Content Low (0-1%)
Yield High, Very High
Plant Height Medium
Grows Greenhouse, Grows Indoors, Grows Outside
Flowering Time 8-9 weeks
Harvest Month Auto
What I should expect to yield usen ffof and foxfarm line nutes ect. Just a rough estimate of what I "should bring in" with 6-8 of those in 5-7 gal pots

Agreed a 4x4 under 600 watts should get a pound if its dialed in, if it comes up short work on your game not bigger lights.

If you're running auto's, gpw means even less. Go by plant count.3-4oz per plant, you're doing good. Over that, you're doing really good. < Average. Some are bigger, some are smaller.

How little gpw means? I'm on my 2nd grow. 1st grow, 4 auto's under 400w = 286gr. 2nd grow, 3 auto's under 330w, already harvested 2 totaling 360gr and the last plant is the biggest, should be over 200gr. You do the math. If I grew 4 of the largest plants I could likely top 2lbs. Gonna try that when those seeds come back in stock.

I'm not a skilled at growing and it shows in my plants, but I am good evidence that gpw means fuck all. :bigjoint:

I'd really like to see what someone in a large space with a few 1k HID would get with some monster tree scrog'n. :eyesmoke:

That's actually next to impossible to say. There are a bevy of variables that will effect the end result......

About a pound.
Really ok :)
He was actually kidding around - that's the pat answer around here to "How much will I get"....

MORE!
"I" wouldn't be happy with less then 24 zip's!

WAIT!!!!
A fucking auto? Good luck getting the damn pound! With photo's I wouldn't be happy with less then 24 zips!

Ooh, auto eesh, forgot that bit.
No trolling intended but.................yeah your not getting a lb. I hear there are big autos but throw taste and potency out the window.

So when someone says u get .5 gram per watt is that per plant or per certain sq ft
It's in a total area which is why gpw sucks. Doesn't factor in how long a plant was vegged for.
In my opinion, the new yield comparison should be "cost per gram". CPG!
Total up all your growing factors from veg to harvest = CPG

Grams per watt. Watts per foot. Waste of time. Intangible numbers when at least half your grow is based on genetics
