How much water per gallon to flush

well i got nute burn bad on a few so i want to flush the soil 100% wait till the next watering and go half strength on nutes i use 3 gallon pot's filled with bullshit miracle grow soil yeah i havent even added nutes and i got nute burn so how does this plan sound to you?.........Thanks

You should allow for 10% run-off. Yellow run off is the salt build up, so once "clearer" stop flushing. Allow plants to dry out and breath for a few days, till soil is dry one-half inch below surface. Hope this helps!

Ummm. So the thing is, if you look in your soil I'm betting your gonna see little, 1/4 of a dome sized balls. These are filled with nutrients. Now you say that you haven't added ANY nutrients yet you still have nute burn? Well what's gonna happen is your gonna dump all that water in there to "flush" the plant and in turn all that's going to do is help break more of those nutrient balls and release the nutrients into your soil..... lol, Soooo I guess you could try some sort of MASSIVE flush so try and break those balls open, and THEN try to flush THOSE nutrients out... It's gonna be hard tho! MG time release ferts suck dick man! sorry!

But to answer your question. On a USUAL flush you use 2wice the amount of water as soil that you have in the pot. EX: So a three gallon pot you would slowly pour 6 gallons of water through the soil untill it all drained out the bottom of the pot. Make sense?

...nope! A 10% runoff is what you'd do for a typical watering maybe....not a flush. Like I said, 3 gallons of water per gallon of soil is considered a proper flush.

...I agree with HookdOnChronics...if you using that time released MG....idk what to tell you....I never attempted MG. Get better soil, restart maybe.

Actually he's kinda right. I ONLY use MG time released soil, I love the stuff you just have to know how to use it. The reason you got nute burn is because you over watered you plants. Also if you you want to use MG time released soil, you have to veg for 2 months, and ONLY WATER when DRY!!!!!! Can't stress that enough with this soil. It's as he said, if you flush, you're just gonna make things worse. If you read the bag it says will feed plants for 3 months, but I don't give my girls a lick of nutes for 2 months, MJ is a very voratious plant and loves nutes, so my soil is ready to start feeding nutes in 2 months. So just feed with water till she gets better.
To flush you use 3 gallons of water for every 1 gallon of soil. You can try to flush but I wouldn't recomend it. I'll show you the plant I'm growing right now in MG.
Not a bit of nute burn eh?

Yea I'm not saying you CAN'T grow in MG time release soil. I just prefer the soil with NO added nutrients now. So I get to choose exactly how to feed my plants. With no question. You can definitely grow in that soil tho! Look, this plant was grown in MG Time Release soil. Yielded over 40 G's. Only vegged for about 25 days.

Ok so first of all I am a beginner. Let me make sure I get this rite..

To flush my 5gal. pots of Roots Organics Original Potting Soil I would slowly pour 15 gallons of water over each of the pots? This seems like a lot more than is needed.

Second question - do I only water them that much one time? Or do I repeat the process when the soil has completely dried out? I thought during a flush week you just water the plants a little more than usual (ex. if I usually water/feed each plant 1 gallon I would flush with 2gallons) several times a week or whenever the soil was dry?

dry soil, transplant to new cooler soil, water in with 1/4 the container volume with plain water, again when dry, when plant recover with fresh healthy growth continue feeding at desired amounts

Lots of info on flushing on here,you asking is telling me you havnt looked around much. Its a hot button up for much debate so good luck with that. You shouldn't be flushing at all unless you have massively overfed. Watering until a LITTLE runoff presents itself is a desirable way of watering in non chemical soil and is not considered flushing.
