@ttystikk I think it would be really interesting to crowdfund this experiment to see what actually happens on a small scale. Do you know of any such experiments?

Yes I'm aware of some, read about them in various places. Next time I run across a reference I'll post it here. There's a good chance an article I've already posted above has some references.

I liked the Australian tax rates somebody posted the other day. If I understood it correctly, nobody would ever be stuck in the low end of a higher tax rate. I think that would satisfy most people needs in our country.

If it were a scale with 0% for people under 40k progressively up to a genuine non-deduction 45%/50% on income over 1mill I think it'd be fair.

It's the deductions that really hamper the tax take, we need to get rid of them all and just adjust the bands appropriately.

I've been completely honest and "fairness" is subjective.

And you're the one misusing the name for a pre-defined concept to suit your personal ideals and you're wasting time if you think people will accept a non-universal universal basic income.

The people not getting it simply won't go along with it and theyre the ones ultimately paying for it.

Again, because you can't seem to accept it, I support UBI if it's universal, like common sense and it's name implies.

Take it from the military budget.

i think what is needed is equal to the public military budget. so part of it can come from military part from those over 250k a year and the rest from big business. that's a rough plan at least but still not a budget.

It would help if the public such as yourself was aware of how much "Black funding" is being used and where some of that could be funneled.

if they did they would want much of that illegal enterprise shut down. all the weapons and drugs and sensitive intelligence being sold ect. most of that dark money is not accounted for by the public because it's not from traceable sources. i imagine. that's why i said their public budget.

you need to skim less. i specifically said i'm not saying you are dishonest , trying to trick people by giving with one hand and taking with the other is dishonest.
your point is that it's called universal so everybody should get it ,,sigh,,and giving $2000 to everybody will be easier than giving 1-2k to only those who need it. i disagree. i have stated why and how i disagree and given an alternative that would help. your version won't fly, mainly because it costs to much but my version probably won't either because people don't see how half the people are poor or why or why they should care.
