Transplanting from solo cup to 5 gallon Q

Good afternoon everyone! I'm currently in a position where I'm not sure how many transplants I'll be able to successfully accomplish before going into flower. I will only have about 3-4 weeks of veg after 2 weeks of being seedlings. Based off this time frame, would it be smarter for me to go directly to a 5 gallon after 2-3 weeks in the solo cups? Do you think I should try going to a 1 gallon after the 2-3 weeks in solo cups and then the 5 gallon, or will I not have enough time to do that? Unfortunately time is a factor for me and I cannot exceed the 3-4 week veg time.

Yeah I read through your post actually before making my own. It had useful info, but I wanted more accurate response based off of my time schedule and specific set up. I'm still new to this so I really want to dial in everything I do properly as to not mess up any of my girls!

OK ere we go .. some say to start them out in the pot you want to finish in ...well iv tried this and also tried transplant befor flower and also whilst in flower .. my last grow I transplanted one plant 3 weeks into flower from 3 gallon to 5 and she bloomed ..iv also transplanted the week befor flower from veg and again they bloomed .. one thing I did was to water befor I transplanted about 20 mins before then turn the plant over tap the pot and take the whole content of root and soil and put it into a bigger pot this way you don't rip roots and stress them .I'd say do what you feel best

I was considering the late transplants even when close to flowering. I've read a lot of mixed results when transplanting in flowering and the general concensus is to avoid it if at all possible. I wanted to have them in their final pots at least a full week before flowering, but idk if the roots would be able to colonize the 5 gallon pot after going into a 1 gallon beforehand. Any other transplant could delay the already small amount of veg time I'm allowed. Currently leaning towards putting them right into the 5 gallon from the solo cups. I'll have to be careful with watering if this ends up being my overall option.

If you have a good strong seedling that is developing its roots nicely I don't see why going straight to the 5 would be a problem. I also never really try to over thinking things. I'd be curious to see how it does with such a short veg time. From clone a short vegetative time is irrelevant because it is coming from a sexually mature plant. From seed may be a different case but I can't say for sure because it's not something I have first hand experience with.

Definitely avoid transplanting any plant that is blooming if you can. This is a general recommendation for anything you are growing and reaches far beyond just the cannabis plant

I like to go from solo cup to 1 gal then to 5 gal + roots seem to really like to be confined at first in my expierence. And then they just take off once repotted into bigger containers.
Just the way I do things I'm sure either way works. I don't leave them in the 1 gal pots very long tho maybe 1 or 2 weeks tops. Here's pics from solo. To 1 gal . To 7 gal
Another reason I do it this way is to conserve electricity as I go from flourescent to hps and am able to fit more plants under flourescent before throwing under hps.

This kind of gives me hope that I can manage the transfer to a 1 gallon from the solo cup before the 5 gallon. So with your experience, given that the roots are healthy, 2 weeks in a solo cup, then 2 weeks tops in a 1 gallon, then onto the larger 5+ works pretty well? At this rate I'd have about 1 1/2 weeks in the final 5 gallon pot before I flipped them over to flower. How important is it to have the entire 5 gallon pot colonized with roots before flipping to flower, if at all? Thanks for the help

I might just try doing a few straight into the 5 gallon after the solo cup, and a few into 1 gallons to see which works best for me personally. The only drawback I have with this is that I'm growing 6 different strains currently. This will create inconsistent responses based off each strain but still might be something I can use.

Something to take note of is I am going from clone and not seed. So I am doing it a little different. But it's really not that important to have a full container of roots as you don't want it to get root bound. That's why I use cloth pots personally. But bigger the root system the better it's gonna take up nutes, the better it's gonna flower.

If space/electricity is not an issue might as well just go for the bigger pot.
Btw I am flowering indoors in 2 gal cloth pots, with 1 week of veg and made a journal. I only use bigger pots outdoors with longer veg times.
