This clip was released by Chelsea Manning, and is among the cables for which she spent more than 7 years behind bars in a military prison for exposing.

Do you believe the American people should have a legal obligation to see it? Or do you believe by exposing it, Manning did a disservice to her country and exposed active members of the US military to more danger than not?

The primary actor (i.e. the one that was filmed being naughty, bears all responsibility.
Without this first act, there was no need for publication of anything. If anything endangered anyone it was the primary act.

Do you think we should have a legal right to see it, as American citizens? Do you think it should be classified?

Only reason for it to be classified is that it catches the military doing things they know are not acceptable, and shameful.
Indeed, the government hates to admit it behaves badly and will generally go to great lengths to avoid the blowback.

They really hate to be held accountable for the consequences of the shit they do in our names.

This is exactly why this sort of thing needs to be exposed and those responsible- from the triggerman to the President- held responsible for their part in it.

The lack of this accountability is at the heart of what's gone wrong with America.

Any American who wonders why so much of the rest of the world hates, fears and doesn't trust us should see this.

If enough people see it, perhaps we can prevent more killings.

'shouldn't bring their kids to a battle'... As they operate under the assumption that anyone on the ground is fair game.

Nobody in or near the van was armed.

What a fucking task, isn't it?

Well, misinformation, anyway

People are more comfortable believing what they want to hear rather than what is true

How on Earth do we combat that?
It takes time to nurture a child into a responsible adult. How often do we forfeit our time for our job(s). Commerce comes before children where the greedy are concerned.
Greed is a learned fear.

I think it should be seen. It's screwed up period. I know that things happen, but they were clearly out of line. No respect whatsoever for human life.
I'm at a loss for words honestly. Knowing it exists and then seeing it brings a whole new perspective. Sad thing is this isn't the only video, how about the things that aren't caught on video.
How so we stop it though? Honestly, we've got children going into the service left and right. I'm all about our military and fighting for freedom all that jazz just to be clear. There is a right and wrong way to do things though. War is going to be screwed up on a lot of levels. Is there a way to prevent things like this?

I know the reason for the difference between the American appetite for war and that of Europe; WWII was fought in their countries. Americans have never known sustained armed conflict on our home turf.

And before some smart ass mentions Pearl Harbor, keep in mind that was a single air raid, without an invasion. On an island in the Pacific that wasn't a state yet.

America will reconsider how it kills people around the world when the world starts killing Americans at home. We aren't special. We aren't immune. And we ARE making a lot of enemies.

I keep thinking the same thing. When it hits our soil, shits going to change real quick. I hate to think it's possible, but shit happens. I understand we have the right to bear arms, and all that but, war is different.

We've been the aggressor in most of the conflicts since WWII. That's only going to change when we start taking casualties at home, where voters live. Only then will Americans think twice about pissing off the rest of the planet.

Of course, by then it will be too late.

The story didn't take into account the added pressure of EPA lobbying.

True. And we spend all the money to develop new military technologies so they can steal them on the cheap;
Chinese hacking was responsible for stealing the secrets to stealth aircraft technology, and now they have the J-20.
