It's still a baby that hasn't dropped her original two leaves...don't do anything at this point...keep it simple and don't over water...g/l
I figured as much. That's why I titled the thread "genetics?" as I'm assuming this is all happening from there.
It was sitting pretty low in the pot, so like I said, I cut the pot down a bit to expose it, and the top of the soil to a little more air circulation... well wouldn't you know it... I cracked the cup in 2 places, at almost opposite sides!!
Damn cup was practically falling into 2. I decided to transplant it because if I even tried to water it in that cup, it would probably split apart. She is in an smart pot now.
Anyway, it's now 24h later and she doesn't look any worse for wear.
While I had it upside down swapping the cup for a pot, I did a little inspection and the soil looks good(no visible pests), also the soil wasn't waterlogged and holy shitballz the roots! That thing had roots everywhere! They weren't enough to hold the cup shape, but they were pretty much throughout the entire cup of soil. I had to be really careful when placing it into the new pot(soil wanted to fall off and I was afraid the roots would get stretched). I basically held the plant like my hands were a solo cup and twisted the pot with my feet so my knuckles acted like a auger. Seems like I didn't stress her out, and at least I got a good look at her roots etc.
Anyway, one less thing to do next week(or so). I just have to be careful about overwatering in the new pot till she fills it out.
My other girl hasn't really done much topside, but I do see her roots peaking out of the drainage holes so I know she's working up her root ball.
Thanks for the info guys, time to sit back and watch her grow...
