I've been groomed into a position of institutional racism. I never knew any other ways. my privilege has always put me over other members of society. You are opening my eyes to a whole new world. These last few days have really showed me a thing or two that i have never experienced before. Some of it is hard to come to terms with but I definitely know that you are probably correct about anything because of your minority status. I don't even know why i keep typing. probably the pursuit of this exotic knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation and somehow survived through the holocaust. it really is amazing that you have made it to this point in the universe. I don't want tobewwhite no more I want to be accepted by all the minorities.

actually he said no such thing, just cited science to try and explain distributions. women dominate nursing because they are more caring......according to your logic you just read that men can't possibly be good nurses.

then you ironically accept that many individuals are always exceptions.

As a white South African I can identify with what you are saying. Once you become aware of those positions we take due to bias and priveledge, you get to make peace with yourself again, if you make the right choices going forward. It has nothing to do with majority or minority. Only power. In SA, I am a minority, our affirmative action program affirms the majority, as that is the group with the least power.

your "men are dumb" virtue signaling aside.....doesnt that stat simply show that men choose risky jobs more than ladies?

From my experience, anything vaguely tech related simply wasnt interesting to most women until about the last 10 years.

Nowadays women have no problem getting hired at tech firms if they have the credentials.

People have to understand that it went from being an abstract industry with only the nerdiest of nerds to a more essential everyday industry and men just had the jump on it.

So yes, I disagree with the ex Google developer. It's not an issue of aptitude or emotional fortitude, it's simply an industry that not many women were interested in until more recent years.

Anecdotal but when I was younger I didn't really know any women that were into development, now maybe 25% of the competent developers I know are women so it's still clearly male dominated but it is slowly changing.
