My proposed first set-up * PICS !* what u think ?

the blue is a duct to exhaust heat from light to outside
max height of the light is about 52" in this closet ( is this gonna be high enough to get a decent yeild ?)
any body see any problems with this set up ?

I'm growing mine outside and they're about 5 feet tall including the pot they're in. And take just about the space you have marked there.

And you may want to do something about that heat duct depending on which season you're in, you'll have to figure out a way to control the temperature in your attic.

right now its like 60-70 degrees ... soon to be lower as winter approaches
im thinking i can route some heat outside through that duct with a fan and have another tube to put the heat back into the room if needed
then another fan behind that white pipe to circulate

the question is will it retain the heat to at least 65 degrees when the light is off for 8 or 12 hours

i will also have the heat on upstairs but it will be for the bed room that is opposite the wall on the right.... floor board heater ... right along that wall too
will maintain the INSIDE temp of at least 55-60

i will also try to block off the other side of the closet and make a small door ... it is about a 20 ft long out cove

You can jimmy up a thermostat to a fan and have that fan blow air out, and if you're fancy enough, to blow it back in (in case it's too hot/cold). that'd take care of the temperature issues

Looks like a good space as long as you can control the temps and humidity. You may need to do a little topping and Lst to get the plants at the right height. You also have to figure out how long to veg in order to maximize your space. You should be able to do up to 10 plants there if you plan it right.

i might suggest doing a little different but im a tad greedy. get yourself a mother and clne box set up and then adjust your flower room from 28 wide to more like 45 wide.
then run plants thru flower in 2 stages introduce clones on left then as the 40 inch side finishes out pull them and slide the clones from the short side to the tall side and introduce new clones on the short half.
giving you a very nice harvest every 4 weeks instead of 8

i just picked up an old 15 gal lizzard tank with light set up ... i can do 2 cfls and a uv light and fit about 8-10 starter plants in there too !

just ordered everything 2 day
got the item i posted from ebay and added a inline fan, 50ft mylar, mh bulb , ph control kit and fox farm fert combo ... i already have temp/hum gauge .. ph tester potting soil etc... dont think i missed any thing ?? total invested is now 500$

Hey I am working with a similar area I would reccomend getting some PVC and cut it to size like a room and wrapping it in mylar...is what im doin...becomes a pretty controllable environment easy to focus intake and exhaust and have odor control as well as avoiding humidity in the attic...

shop around, I got a hole flowering room for $250. 600hps, 3x3 hydro hut, 4in vortex inline, carbon filter, 4in intake. OVer the years Ive spend countless amounts of $$ on growing equipment. I spend over $20,000 a year at the clubs just on meds.

ha just found on for $300 in 2 seconds.. Shop around, like I said. My Sun System hood was originally priced $200 alone. I got the hole unit, ballast, socket, hood for $80.
