keep in mind, ive just learned to water correctly. my ppm was at 4000, seems i wasnt letting enough run off, or not watering enough for it to cycle thru each watering. I put recharge in, and didnt notice a runoff discoloration for 8 waterings, lol.. So i pretty much flushed with fresh nutes and supercharged with recharge. I expect it to double in size in 5 days from today.

I think when you defol, its best to water with a carb based tea or something. malassis is in recharge, so it should be greatly benifical for leaf stripping purposes.

We'll see,
Yea i water with stump tea for that week with mammth p and photosynthesis p, in a few days u cant even tell u took leaves off haha

I been cutting off my rootball so I can use a smaller pot with a bigger plant. soon as she gets tall and wide I cut off the rootball and down pot her into a smaller size. down to flowering in jello shot cups now for the win. only one fungus gnat at a time can fit in the cup and thrips cant hide now.

RootBall Removal for the win!!!

It's possible in theory, because the plant may sense that it's being eaten by bugs and put out extra bug defense, meaning resin. CBG and THCA induce cell apoptosis in insects (death) and resin also acts as sticky traps. Apparently plants can take about 25% defoliation with no ill effects but more than that reduces growth, so something to keep in mind.

BTW the branching that you see from topping is a defense against a worm which bores into hemp stems and kills the plant above that point. It's the natural version of topping. Increases yield by about 20% over a straight up plant. It thinks "worms are eating my stem, better put out more stems and grow faster to counter them" I guess.

Topping works because of apical dominance not worms. Growth tips at the top of the plant produce auxins that retard growth of everything below it. It's why lateral buds will always be smaller. Doesn't matter how many leaves you cut off or how much light penetration you have, it's controlled by the hormones in the plant.

No it's totally because of the worms. Do other plants produce 20% more when topped? Nope. Otherwise every cultivated plant would be topped. You gotta buy yourself a weed worm from Worms R Us.
Resistance to Catastrophic Stem Damage

Cannabis sativa normally has a dominant leader stem which produces a central stalk. As discussed in the following paragraphs, the species has an amazing capacity to recover from catastrophic damage to the main stem.

The European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) or ECB (Fig. 6a), is a major Lepidopteran pest of C. sativa. Young ECB larvae eat hemp leaves until half-grown, then bore holes into the stems. A typical entrance hole resulting from an attack on the main stem is shown in Fig. 6b. The insect is indigenous to the Old World, where it apparently once reproduced mainly in association with Cannabis and its close relative Humulus (although also attacking many other plant species). It was not exposed to corn (i.e., maize, Zea mays), which is indigenous to the Americas, until post-Columbian times (“European hemp borer” would have been a better choice of name). In a study of ECB infestation of a large experimental field, Small et al. (2007) discovered that ECB damage to Cannabis increased the shoot weight of the plant by 20 %, concomitantly enlarging seed production, indicating that Cannabis is adapted to the insect. The expanded productivity observed was due to branch proliferation at the site of the attack (see Fig. 6c and d). Figure 6e shows silhouettes of a normal and an ECB-damaged plant, and it is evident that the increased number of branches resulting from the damage has produced more biomass and more seeds. (The insect preferred larger stems, but was
unaffected by THC content.)

if this were true, which it ain't

all and sundry thats you and all the other noobs

would be willfully infecting thier plants with bugs

thank you for this post ...lol

Oh, you mean because it was so well known before I posted it? And because people like their leaves also being eaten? I think it's pretty obvious who the noob is here.

You can get those same results in figure E by low stress training without letting little worms eat ur girls
Yeah I know. That's why you should have been able to figure out that my suggestion to get a worm was a joke. But I guess that would require a brain. I simple explained a possible reason for how the response evolved. Obviously just topping has the same effect. Now go buy that worm, and stick it in your ear. Maybe it will control your brain like an alien parasite and make you more intelligent.
