Odor control suggestions?

Let me start off by saying I'm about to start my first indoor grow in a 3x3x6 tent next month. It doesn't need to be stealthy, I rent a house from a family member and he's a heavy smoker and he's cool with me growing lol. So I'm not hiding from anyone. I'm wondering if anyone has any cheap suggestions that may help with odor control. Doesn't have to eliminate it entirely, just maybe cut down on it a bit.

The only thing that really works is a carbon filter. Everything else covers it. You could burn an assload of incense but the smoke will stick to the buds. It'll taste like your smoking a 7/11 store...

Yeah I'm definitely not looking to burn anything dude lol asthma sucks =( I just don't understand the fan system for carbon filters and I guess I need somebpdy to dumb it down for me

I only have one outlet that I can run power from so I'm just not sure what to do since my light is gonna be plugged in I really only have one available

I'm not an electrician. But Lowe's sells a overload trip, six outlet power thingy that mounts to the front of the two plug outlet. I run a cob driver and three fans off the same outlet. No problems for me.

Yeah I wasn't sure whether I'd trip the breaker or not. I gotta figure out if it's connected to the kitchen one or the living room one. If it's not connected to the rest of the kitchen I can get one of those things and it'll be fine. I think lol

Mine is a 15amp breaker. Regular bedroom type thing. There's several outlets on the same breaker. I've never tripped it. COBs, fans, and a vacuum cleaner going....nada...

I'm guessing you don't run a full sized fridge, an oven, a flat top grill, and a water kettle at the same time with your bedroom grow though lol

We had our kettle going at the same time as the flat top and the fridge and it tripped the breaker so if the other wall is connected too then I'm fucked lol

The exhaust ducting has a decent noise. I have an 8" inline blower to 6" duct on a 2x4x6' tent. A 6" blower would do but it'd be on high speed. The 8" runs at high low. I mounted the blower in the attic. A 6" duct hole is the same as a recessed ceiling light hole. So if you move the setup, you can stick a light or vent in the place you cut. They sell 6" sheetrock hole saws for around $20. Cordless drill will do it all day long.

The set up has a hum and whoosh sound with the blower in the ceiling covered with a lot of shit. If the blower was in the room....I guess you could use to it...It's loud.

There are no ceiling lights in there unfortunately so I couldn't go upward with it without drilling and Id rather not. I guess I'm just gonna have to rig something and hope for the best lol. Carbon filter situation is just not gonna work. Like I said it doesn't have to be stealthy, I'd just rather not have my whole house stink. If the basement was heated I'd just grow down there but it's gonna be maybe 40 degrees down there in the winter and the lights never stay on

ok this is done using several things but mostly it is a negitive pressure in your grow area

1 u need a active carbon filter
1a the size of the filter depends on the size of the fan and area
1b buying a over sized filter and using a under rated CFM does not prolong the life of filter it shortens it ......the air will always travel path of least energy (meaning it will just keep sucking over the same active carbon all the time ) ...make sure the speed and filter match to get full 12 month life from it

u only need something rated in 90 120 cfm range in a 3x3x6 that would be cycling the air every min to 45 secs

2 u need a ozone gen for your house .......this is only used when u open the area up to work when u are done u turn it on for 20 mins it kills the smell in the house ...no one can tell shit

this is the cheap model ........they got a better one for 230 but fuck it .......this will make ozone it will attach to any smell and kill it....great for a guy house or a smokers/growers

Why not run heavy duty extension cord to a different room? With a 3x3 tent you don't need a big fan. A 4" inline would be more than enough paired with a carbon filter if you run HID. You would probably run it at 50% if you run LED.

i got the old more exp model .......the thing is the greatest tool i have ever had
i sat down clipped up about half pound .......buddy calls as i am finishing up saying he is coming over (he is one of those get me stoned man u got so much) .....cleaned up flipped that thing on for 15 mins on the ozone he showed up could not smell shit ....still have it basically a air filter on roids (u controll the ozone ppm )

tents smell when u open them up to work ........it will stink up the house like the plants did before maybe not as long since work in that area should be 30 mins every other day (had mine open for about a hour u could tell when it was in flowering tho a 2 story house )

If you don't wanna stink up the house you're going to need a carbon filter.

Google diy carbon filter. I saw something back in the day with carbon, or charcoal or something. Mixed in with pantyhose and such. Was a long time ago, but probably worth a search.

I feel it might be worth mentioning that my kitchen and bathroom are closed off from the rest of the house... It's not an open area.
