Trump unites NFL - against him.

I'm not trying to turn it into anything. It is what it is. When you refused to place your hand over your heart or kneel and and refused to honor the men and women that died for (you) that means you refuse to pledge allegiance to this country. That's what you want to do fine we don't want you. Move to another country see how that works out for you. The shit would hit the fan so fast for you it would literally make your head spin (off).
Which is why THIS country is free and THOSE countries aren't.

So now you're saying you don't really believe in freedom of expression!

You are turning this in to something that it is not. They are not protesting our military, or a flag, or a song. They are protesting police brutality towards African Americans. People like you are trying to change the narrative to suit your argument.

I saw a meme the other day that makes this point. It went something like this.... Saying NFL players are protesting the flag by taking a knee during the anthem is like saying Rosa Parks was protesting busses when she sat at the back of one.
Choosing to protest anything during the anthem is making a conscious choice to offend. It is the offensiveness of it that draws the attention to it. Nobody has the right not to be offended so it comes down to the appropriateness of it. It is pretty clear it is effective for the cause, but the consequences to this civic tradition are unclear. I'm curious to see what happens next.

I think last weekends protest was more a Fuck You to Trump for creating a false dilemma. Meaning reasonable people can both love the anthem and strongly support civil rights.

If you're offended, change the channel. It's right there on your remote. No kneeling required.

How is kneeling for the anthem disrespectful?

You want compulsory respect? That's the policy of authoritarianism.

Huh? Helluva leap again. So its ok for Nazis to roam the streets saying Jews won't replace us or whatever garbage but a football player can't take a silent knee in protest of police brutality. Cool beans

One need only note that people are offended to prove it is offensive.

I'm not for compulsory at all. It would have no meaning.

You forgot a period at the end of your sentence. That makes you stupid and your statement is pointles, according to the people on this website.
