Quick question... I have a QB288 and a HLG150H-54B... do I need a 50k or 100k pot? I'm guessing linear would suit best, ya?
Thanks!
Thanks!
They are still in the shroud of bubble wrap, sleeping on a towel bed lolBe careful how you lay down the diode side ... Could jack them up.
I laid my PROJECTS on a folded towel. Looks good.
Do not put two boards in parallel on that driver. Your risk a voltage mismatch - The min voltage on the drive is 114V, which is above the operating voltage of the QB304.. Put them in series and dial down the current.
Thank you, i was about to re-ask lol.
Now, how do i go about making sure i dont fry them.
Can i just use the KW meter or should i hook a multimeter up and find a range using the pot?. Im unsure what range to run these in on the 320h-c1400b
Made some more progress this eve.
In his situation, I'd actually be more concerned about damaging the driver. They do weird things when you put the wrong load on them.with 2 in series, the voltage will be fine, this is a constant voltage/constant current driver. You wouldn't want to run just one on it. And I had 1 QB 304 become they only working board in a parallel string of 4 on a HLG320H-C2800b for a good 30-60 seconds becausing of a wiring failure. it survived just fine!

Don't look into the light! Lolthank you so much to everyone, im ok w electronics. Like i fix broken flat panel tvs for myself, have a nice 65 samsung smart tv i have a total of 300 in....but bad caps and such is as far as i have ever gone down the electronics rabbit hole.
when a runny nose woke me up at 430 am, i resumed work and just got her hung up at 11am.
Excluding the mars 300 (its only there for a lil more warmth lol) im currently at 170 watts on the KW meter. I have it 24ish inches above the canopy.
Is this a good starting point?
Im unsure on where to start at w watts. Im also unsure where to end at w watts lol
Dang these things are bright, when i first turned it on the pot was all the way down, which turns em off...i didnt think it was working til I twisted it...then i had 608 rectangles hovering in my vision for 3 minutes after i turned it off lol...wow
Nevertheless, the drivers minimum voltage is 118, and the boards are rated for a max Vf of 115V @ 1400 mA. That's a voltage mismatch if the boards are NOT in series. Not ever something I would recommend anyone doing. Sure you might get away with it 99 times out of a hundred. But I would not want you to be number 100.2 boards on this driver is not a wrong load. You can run multiple 36V cobs on it, its designed to work this way. Now mismatched board voltage could cause problems but I believe HLG has stated that most boards are now made with the same chip batches negating that issue.
And I've yet to see anyone here toast a driver, Meanwells are tough!
They all work. I'd say the difference would be 5% at most.Hey guys would 4000k boards be ok for flowering or should I wait for 3000k or 3500k?
Thanks, I found some 288 boards. But I'd still need the driver and sink. Well and all the miscellaneous extrasThey all work. I'd say the difference would be 5% at most.
Yep , many don't realize how well these throw light ... Hell could park them on the roof and watch planes land in your yard.Omg dude ur not kidding....so 200 watts 24" above the canopy was too much. I mean wow.....i turned it down to 140 watts a couple hours before lights out.
I underestimated these even after reading so much.... and ya, i need some sunglasses for real if doing anything in there. Even down to 140 my eyes hurt suckin water out of the drain pan.
Wow thanks! I actually just prepped it for chop, tomorrow she'll be cut and hung. Not a huge yielder (prob due in part to my massive light burn) but the smell is out of this world and it is beyond sticky! How are those OG's doing, it's true joy watching your plants
