I'm keeping a close eye on her this week. If the rot comes back I'll have to chop. I only have maybe an Oz or 2 max on this girl as it is so I can't lose much more =(
Having fresh all along would be nice. Plus an added bonus, it can help keep you warm on those long cold winter nights. On the upside I'm gonna have my indoor grow started next month =)
But there's really nothing like a solar hit of some top shelf bud!A little bud porn thanks to my jewelers loupe. This is 30x, it has 60x and 90x on it too but it's too sunny outside to see wtf I'm doing and magnifiers in direct sunlight probably isn't a good idea lol! Check out "apical dominance" if you're not already aware. Regardless of garden type it's important to understand.I'm just excited to get started on a new project. =) Its a small set up, 3x3x6' tent. Viparspectra reflector series light, actual wattage is 276. I figure since the main issue people have with these lights is that it doesn't penetrate to the lower levels of the plant, I'm gonna try it as either a sog or a scrog grow.
Lower temps will raise humidity and both will slow growth. You're probably noticing an uptick in growth because the temps are closer to ideal, at least during the day.The trichomes tell a different story though. Mostly cloudy on the buds and I'm already seeing amber popping up in the buds.
Also it's not all white hairs, but she keeps sprouting new ones. I'm not sure if that's normal or not? Our Temps here were really cold (low 60s daytime and 30s at night!) then we got another heat wave and it's been upper 70s and low 80s daytime and 50s at night. Could the Temps be playing a part in this or is it a genetics thing to keep growing new pistils this late?
I had a friend from Minnesota with a ducks foot leaf (webbed blades) strain that would have actual ice, not just frost, on the buds in the mornings without a problem . That's not to say that I'd take the chance and some types of agriculture will actually spray their crops with water to form a layer of ice to insulate the plant from the cold air so that may not mean much.Frost tonight and potentially tomorrow night =(
Nope no place safe inside and she's got a few weeks til harvestI had a friend from Minnesota with a ducks foot leaf (webbed blades) strain that would have actual ice, not just frost, on the buds in the mornings without a problem . Either way, can you bring it inside over night? Is it close enough to harvest? It's basically down to compromising between whether it's not close enough to harvest that it's actually worth the gamble.
That can definitely work. My mom has a colony of hummingbirds that live in one of her big flowering shrubs. She's had to wrap the plant during some of our unusually cold winter freezes these last few of years. It's worked great. Not too much different than the tomatoe wall'o water.I put a trashbag over her that I'll remove in the morning. I leave for work early before they'll get any sunlight
That's outdoor growing. They don't always get to finish all the way. She's 6 weeks into flowering now. I'm hoping to be able to let her finish but I don't think we're going to make it to the end of the month before mold sets in on this one too.
On a happier note, my first plant is currently curing. I've got a sample bud that'll be ready to try soon.
For sure lol! My first one could've used an extra week but I was already having mold issues with that one so I chopped her at 8 weeks...That's outdoor growing. They don't always get to finish all the way.
Definitely look into light dep for the next season. You can beat the rainy and cold mold season and even get two or three crops in the same time. For sure lol! My first one could've used an extra week but I was already having mold issues with that one so I chopped her at 8 weeks...
So far so good on my remaining plant though. If I can get her to 8 weeks (around the 15th) I'll check trichomes and see if she's close enough. depending on how she looks I might try to ride it out another week or two after that
