THUNDER BAY, ON, Oct. 4, 2017 /CNW/ - New technology is coming to Canada'scannabis industry that will cut the time required to dry cannabis by 90% and at least triple its shelf life.

Kaamos Inc. has signed a Letter of Intent with Protein Solutions Group (PSG) to purchase an exclusive license that allows Kaamos Inc. to immediately sell and sub license PSG's proprietary Protein Dried™ technology to Canadian licensed producers.

Approved for use in Canada, Protein Dried™ is an organic dehydration technology that is superior to other drying methods. Protein Dried™ preserves the cellular structures inside the plant material, increases shelf life, and requires little to no heat which protects the temperature-sensitive molecules in the cannabis plant from degradation during the drying process.

This rapid dehydration method provides competitive advantages for licensed Canadian cannabis producers including:

  • Cellularly intact dried product, allowing for higher concentrations of THC and CBD to be extracted.
  • reduced drying time from 14 days to 18 hours or less, allowing for faster processing.
  • Preservation of the dried plants for 18 - 24 months versus the current shelf life of only 4 - 6 months, enabling producers to stockpile their product in preparation for Canada's legalization of recreational marijuana in July 2018.
  • Minimal new equipment costs and low energy costs
"We're excited to introduce Protein Dried™ technology to current and pending licensed cannabis producers in Canada," says Donna Tremble, CEO of Kaamos Inc. "It is a rapidly-growing industry and this technology has tremendous potential to increase production and prevent product shortages with the legalization of recreational marijuana next year. We encourage producers to learn how this proprietary dehydration process will increase your bottom line."

"As Protein Solutions Group develops its strategic partnerships with firms around the globe, it is critical that we select people and teams with the utmost integrity, experience and reach. Kaamos Inc. is one such company," says Robert Gorman, LLC, President, Protein Solutions Group. "It is led by Donna Tremble who not only shares PSG's integrity, but also our strategic vision for where we can take our Protein Dried™ technology and our other developments in the field of Proteomics."

While focused on cannabis producers, Kaamos will also be offering the technology to other parties who are licensed to conduct activities with cannabis.

More information is available on the Kaamos website, www.kaamos.ca, or by contacting info@kaamos.ca or 807-630-6865.

Kaamos Inc.is a Canadian biopharmaceutical start-up located in Thunder Bay, Ontario. We offer proprietary technologies and pharmaceutical manufacturing services to Canadian and American cannabis producers and pharmaceutical companies.

Mmmmmmm chlorophyll flavored uncured bud."It is a rapidly-growing industry and this technology has tremendous potential to increase production and prevent product shortages" So all in theory and not in practice, and certainly not in practice with cannabis. All these companies with no know how or understanding of cannabis are gonna peddle their snake oil to LPs who also dont know cannabis. Gotta laugh at the whole "allowing for higher THC and CBD". Something theyre limiting anyway.

well i know you guys are all experts but i am doing it right now..in a dehydrator
and do it a lot just for me..

if the chlorophyl is gone there has been degradation..i do not generally like "cured herb" because there has been a colour change

due to degraded vegetative break down[ no not communication break down by the Zep]

sorry cannabis is green when it is healthy in my books....if grown well it is the best taste for me..

if you let it fade while growing that so ok too..but this composting cure is not for me ..

though i have only been smoking for 48yrs..

you are welocome your collective opinion..but thats all it is..

I like my BCNL dryer. It has 3 screens that can handle about one pound of trimmed buds without overlap. In my experience it usually it takes 3-4 days to dry buds perfectly. It has a carbon filter inside so there is no smell until you bag up the buds. Once bagged it is a good place to store the bags, has a locking door as well. The design is simple and could easily be DIY'd by someone with basic knowledge and tool skills.

So if presented with facts youd denounce those too? Sounds like your personal preference and bias are dictating your opinion on this one. Which is fine, just dont passively pass it as truth or half truth. Stating any oposing "opinion", collective or not is merely just that, also says alot about your reasoning

you gave opinion i gave mine..it was response to your post amigo

it cannot be denied that when dead cannabis fades there has been some sort of "composting"

whether ya'll like it that way or not..and its your right to like it..

just do not post and expect everyone to agree with your suppostion

My understanding is that fermentation breaks down chlorophyll and sugars inside the cells. Drying too quickly shortens the time it ferments causing harshness to the smoke because less sugars and chlorophyll have broken down.

I've heard of people freeze drying bud, which is basically dehydrating it. I doubt it will do anything good for terpine retention though. Terpines are more volatile than water and are likely driven off long before water.

But, technology marches on I guess. But like the old saying goes, Schwagg in, Schwagg out. ;)

well gb...i gave my" reason for it..i do not think its bs

i LIKE things dried like that..

i like long hung too..becausebit stays green if its green when chopped

just not generally the "cured" after chop ..until it changes the colour and texture..

freezing gave me not the same qualities..

I make oil and I like it dried fast!...
and ive said for ever that if yer herb doesn't taste awesome right when its dry..it never will lol
sure mediocre herb may taste better with out green taste

but good AAAA pot ... is killer as soon as its dry!

I don't like brown herb either lol....
I have a picture of the same herb harvested at the same time..One was cured until brown and the other left green and dry and jarred.
The brown cured was shit by taste comparison and I wouldn't have noticed until it was like that to see...

funny the things you forget. listen to others  and try different things...and it leads you away from what you know..

I have done both ways...and actually preferred the long hung method.and then paper bags to slow things down some more.......I have also tried food dehydrator...did not like..the results.
I still Mason jar for long term storage but fully dried.....do not put anything even remotely damp in the jars or it will start to brown...

My understanding is that fermentation breaks down chlorophyll and sugars inside the cells. Drying too quickly shortens the time it ferments causing harshness to the smoke because less sugars and chlorophyll have broken down.
This is somewhat true...but will create brown weed unless the moisture is perfect.
Large brown paper bags, will reduce the air flow, after its about 3/4 dry...and then slow things down to break down the chlorophyll and sugars for the most part, before jarring fully dry....I have found this maintains the bud quality far better than jarring earlier and burping jars or using bovida packs...

just what i want my freshly cut flowers to be dowsed in a solution then quick dried in less than a day.
are these guys kidding! do they know about the chemical changes that actually take place during drying and cure?

i dry over 10-14 days than mason jar for storage.
no chlorophyll taste, and a clean white ash.
patience reaps rewards

we had fools here telling us we should all be washing our herb
because all LP's use sprays to grow . and that its OK to do so....:spew:
Sick people do not need poison shwags grown by LP's who spray their shwags..

I have heard of bud washing with a low ppm of h2o2 in water. But it is only to kill mold right after harvest before drying. What is the reason for baking soda and lemon juice?
