Hey folks I'm on day 73 of my auto northern lights. All of my plants have been on there on time schedule it seems. I harvested one plant 12 days ago and it was too early I feel like. The bud is very fluffy and doesnt have much of a taste. Now I have this plant that looks more ready than the last I have dead leaves all over the buds and the crystal is starting to build up. I've been flushing now for 2 weeks. Should I cut it or let it be ? Thank you !

No need to flush, you're robbing the plant of nutrients that it needs. A good slow dry/cure will get you some smooth smoke. Trich wise they don't look ready. At least 7-10 days.

Looking at the trichs in picc 3 it looks just a few days away, give it a week---nice grow btw--impressive. I love Northern Lights, looking for an auto strain to grow in wintertime, this looks good, post a smoke report down the line

you may as well harvest now, plants been starving for two weeks, losing essential oils and health by the day maybe.

if your plants are not stinky and tight at harvest date something else is at play. feed, light, temps, rh, c02, air flow.....etc
two weeks , at front or back never made my plants stink more or get tighter buds. If you feed heavy to the end your plant could live longer, with a slower ripen, with ph issues while fertilizers are poured but not used.

I grow northern lights regularly. Dont wait for trichs to turn. They wont unless the roots are unhealthy. They will cloud up a bit but wont go amber.

I took a nl plant 16 weeks once just to see. They never turned. A couple here and there. But barely any.

And skip the flushing. Waste of time. When you think she is ready to cut just water one more time with plain water ph'd right and when she dries chop er...

Wow, I'm still waiting to harvest my NL, not autoflower, but they look good. I wanted to wait for some color, but now I don't know after what you just said. They all look like they were dipped in a sugar bowl, growing them in a greenhouse with Gorilla Glue, Blueberry, and Amnesia. Amnesia I think will run thru 1st-2nd week of October. I never grew that strain before, so it is unfamiliar to me.

Skip flushing. And examine the trichomes and take notes. Then chop one now, chop another in a week, then another a week later. Then compare results and take good notes. Then next grow you will have better knowledge on when is optimal and when is too early and when is too late.

Look at the trichomes today, this is what they look like.
It's hard to say with that picture, It might be time, it might not. Some look milky, but they are a bit blurry so it could be a deception. Some are obviously still clear and some are amber so they are degrading. I would just do it. I've never grown autos though, so I am no expert. I do grow photoperiod Northern Lights a lot, but I don't know if they can be compared. Sometimes you just have to do something and see what happens. That is where good note taking comes in. That way you will know next time exactly what you did and if you thought it was correct.

My experience with auto is limited but you will never be able to compare this run with any others since they are auto? Even if you had the same batch of seeds there will be variation. I would take a few cuts at different times and label them. You may get a variety of different highs?

Ten days .... Let pot go dry , then harvest ..... When ready trim buds ( still in pot ) then cut stalk to hang.

Pistils STILL will recede STOP FLUSHING ... Just let her fade the leaves.

AUTOS will run longer than advertised.... Always.
Those breeder times are an estimate ( based under optimal conditions)
Cut down light cycle during final weeks 10/14 .... It will keep the plant on the downhill to harvest.

I'm growing in a greenhouse so I can't limit the light.
